What a fantastic week at the 76th Australian AC Championship! 🌞
The Women’s Singles Plate event is being played here at the stunning Forrest Park Croquet Club in WA, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. With matches held across four venues, it’s been an incredible showcase of skill and sportsmanship all week.
A huge thank you to the tournament managers, referees, groundsmen, hoop setters plus the catering helpers who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event such a success. 👏

🎉 Welcome to 2026! 🎉
We’ve kicked off the new year with our new groundsman on board, and wow — the lawns are looking the best they ever have. They’re running super true, honestly never been so precise.
If you’ve ever thought about giving croquet a go, now’s a great time to come down and have a hit!
And if you’re considering hosting a croquet party, now’s the time to lock in a date. Take a look at the attached photo from one of our Christmas parties — a great bunch of people enjoying a fantastic event on the lawns.
We look forward to seeing you at the club! 🏏🌿

While our President has been temporarily living in New Zealand for the past few months, his passion for croquet hasn’t slowed one bit.
Today, he won the Otago competition, lowered his handicap to 2, and rose to number one in Otago—just another day in the life of Richard Lobb.
Congratulations from all of us at the Forrest Park Croquet Club

Introducing the JANINE MCHARDY TROPHY.
We are proud to announce a brand-new competition at Forrest Park Croquet Club — the Janine McHardy Trophy, named in honour of one of our most dedicated and accomplished members.
Janine has generously shared her time, skills, and passion for croquet with our club over the years, both on and off the lawn. A true competitor, she has represented the State team since 2013, playing an impressive 188 singles matches with 105 wins — a 55.85% success rate. This remarkable achievement makes her the most capped female player and second overall in State singles appearances.
Come down and support this exciting new event as we celebrate Janine’s contributions and competitive spirit. The first competition will be held this weekend at Forrest Park Croquet Club — don’t miss it!

On Sunday, under a glorious, blue, sunny sky day with not a memory of winter anywhere to be found, the much anticipated Beaucott Challenge Ladder Finals Day arrived at Forrest Park Croquet Club
Strange things happen in croquet
Division One was a case of two WA State Team members in the mix with two underdogs… nobody could predict what was to unfold over the next 6 and a half hours
· Winner: Ciaran Stewart
· Runner-up: Brian Scott
Division two had a red hot favourite but then there was also a known dark horse in that race
· Winner: John Rea
· Runner Up: Richard Lobb
Division three had no subtleties about it, brute force against three finesse players
· Winner: John Gartner
· Runner-up: Lesley Storey
An interesting statistic from the three divisions
· All three the winners were in the number three position at the start of the finals

Congratulations to Nola Kimberley, this year’s winner of the Dot Barkla competition, a competition for ladies C grade players. Nola won all of her four games, playing Sunday afternoon and Monday night.
Thanks to all competitors and organisers.
And who was Dot? From CroquetWest, March 2016 -
One of Forrest Park’s Life Members Dot Barkla peacefully passed away on the 2nd March.
Dot was a very competitive croquet player and a great club supporter, always ready to help out, especially in the kitchen.
