Thank you to all the SHDA teachers for your expertise and help with our team especially our resident teacher/physiotherapist Bec for managing the issues we had to have them up and dancing.

Thank you to the South Queensland Regional Committee on all your hard work and preparation to provide our dancers with beautiful medals, trophies and the fabulous experience of the Australian Championship on Saturday and C of C on the Sunday.

Congratulations to the Highland Dancing, Western Australia committee on a great championship and celebration of the 100 years of the “Dewar Cup”on Saturday.
The work that went into making the day the success it was, very obvious.

Thank you from the SHDA team for all you did to make it a wonderful day for our dancers past and present.

It was a big thrill to have some of SHDA’s past Dewar cup winners, Paula, Belinda, Rhondda, Fiona, Anne-Maree, Elizabeth, Abi and Morven present to be acknowledged as past winners.

Today was SHDA’s 28th win of this historic cup with an amazing 7 wins by the beautiful Belinda and Morven’s 4th with her win again in 2026.

It was also a great day for SHDA’s 3 primaries, one beginner, one novice, two 12 to 15 years championship and our four 16 and over championship competitors.
A small but mighty group.

Thank you to our teachers, parents and relatives for the support they continually give to our dancers. It takes a village.
