No sooner had we posted on Shirley Can Der Brugghen's win at RPGC Senior Women's Open last week, she went to win another Senior Open at Lakelands Country Club on Tuesday 9 June. Well done and congratulations Shirley!

Celebrations at the Club indeed for two wins back to back.

If you think you are having a bad day on the course - spare a thought for your fellow club member that had his ball stuck in between the bin and the pole on the course.

Good news though - free relief for the ball stuck in an immovable obstruction on course - just in case this happens to you in the near future 😅😉

We are delighted to hear the news today of Max Hannah receiving the Member of the Order of Australia in the King's Birthday Honours.

Max has been a member of Melville Glades Golf Club for over 50 years (52 years and 7 months) and has served in the following positions at our Club over the years:
President 2000-2003
Vice President 1999
Captain 1981-1983
Vice Captain 1979-1980
Chair, 50th Anniversary Committee 2016-2019
Chair, History & Heritage Committee 2017 -2025

Congratulations to club member, Shirley Van Der Brugghen for winning the Royal Perth Senior Women's Open - gross. The event was played in conjunction with the Royal Perth Senior Men's Open. Congrats to Shirley and all other winners in the field.

We don't need to wait until 9 September (the official day of Thank the Course Super) to send through our appreciation and thanks today for our awesome course team, lead by Course Super, Dane McBride for the work that they did in the past week, cleaning up the course after the weekend storm.

Members are echoing the same sentiments and we're thrilled to join in and celebrate their dedication.
