Highly regarded worldwide and one of Western Australia’s iconic events, the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach (Mudurup) to Rottnest Island (Wadjemup). The annual South32 Rottnest Channel Swim event is held in February each year whereby swimmers depart from Western Australia’s renowned Cottesloe Beach and make their way across the Channel covering 19.7km of Indian Ocean to finish at Thompson Bay, Rottnest Island, making the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim one of the largest open water swims in the world.

💰 Commit to raising at least $3,500 for your nominated charity and secure guaranteed entry for your team of four in the 2027 South32 Rottnest Channel Swim.

🩲 Fundraise via Grassrootz - the team that raises the most money for their charity gets their names engraved on the Lavan Charity Challenge Cup (and yes, you also get to swim to Rotto!).

🏊‍♀️ Our aim is to support everyone wanting to undertake a solo crossing of the Rottnest Channel. It's one hell of an achievement and solo entrants have guaranteed entry. For Lavan Charity Challenge places are capped at 40 teams, so we recommend registering as soon as possible to secure your spot.

Mark your calendars, 2027 registrations are opening soon for those who registered for the 2026 Rottnest Channel Swim!

2026 participants are guaranteed entry to the 2027 South32 Rottnest Channel Swim - but you'll still need to register your spot.

Here's what you need to know

⏰ REGISTRATIONS are initially only for 2026 Guaranteed Entry participants.
Open: Tuesday, 13 October at 9:00 AM AWST
Close: Thursday, 15 October at 7:00 PM AWST

Guaranteed entries will close after this window, ahead of the general public registration dates.
