What started as a dream that rugby could thrive in Western Australia has grown into 20 seasons of passion, resilience, community and unforgettable memories πŸ’™

Today’s Western Force Past Players Luncheon brought together the people who helped build rugby in WA β€” celebrating the stories, friendships and moments that shaped the club across two decades.

From reflections on the early days of bringing professional rugby to the west coast, to the importance of grassroots clubs and pathways today, the afternoon was a reminder of how connected the rugby community in WA really is.

A special thank you to the Honourable Roger Cook MLA for attending and sharing his own memories of growing up playing rugby in Western Australia.

Thank you to our past players, supporters and everyone who contributed to the Rugby Foundation of WA through donations, the auction and raffle, along with Tattarang and Gallagher for their support of the event and rugby in WA. πŸ‰πŸ¦’

The future of rugby in WA starts at community level. To support the next generation of players, coaches and clubs, become a Rugby Foundation of WA member or donate here https://wa.rugby/rugby-foundation-western-australia

Today, RugbyWA was proud to attend the Indian Ocean Defence & Security Conference & Exhibition at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, engaging with Defence industry leaders and future talent during Careers Day.

Rugby and Defence share strong values β€” leadership, resilience, discipline and teamwork β€” and through our growing engagement with the sector, including our MOU with Defence, we see real opportunities to use rugby as a vehicle for connection, wellbeing and community engagement.

It was also a privilege to connect with Hon Amber-Jade Sanderson and Australia’s first professional astronaut and 2026 Australian of the Year, Katherine Bennell-Pegg.

We look forward to continuing conversations with organisations across the Defence sector about creating positive impact through sport.
