I’ve heard some very interesting costume ideas and look forward to a night of competition. 🍻🎉

I’ve included a few inspiration pics for costumes🤭

Can someone knock Bondy and Harry off the podium or will they go on for a three peat? 👀

Ospreys! Round 2 sees us welcome another Whitfords member to the 100 Club - none other
than Thomas Pidhirnyj!

Pidge debuted at Whitfords in 2017/18 and has since become a regular feature with both the
gloves, and his grenades, taking many by surprise (both opposition bats and team mates!).

Pidge has also stepped up this season and supported the Club by housing our import for the
summer, to which all are much appreciative.

Always good for a bev and a yarn, Pidge is the kind of bloke you want on your team, as you
know you’ll always have a laugh regardless of the result (just don’t mention the GF!).

Be sure to get around Tommy this weekend for his 100th and wish him well!

Vale Neil Rotham – A True Whitfords Cricket Club Legend

It is with great sadness that Whitfords Cricket Club acknowledges the passing of Neil Rotham, a true club legend whose contribution to our club will never be forgotten.

An inaugural player, long serving President, Life Member, champion bowler - his 405 wickets at an average of 11 will always be aspirational. The Fairest and Best award is named in his honour, but Neil is much more than a name in the club’s history. He was one of our club’s forefathers who shaped its identity and culture.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Carmen and the family and the many teammates who had the privilege of sharing the field and a friendship with him.

Thank you, Neil, for everything you gave to the Whitfords Cricket Club. Your legacy will live on.

Rest in peace, Neil.

🏏RESULTS🏏

Last weekend saw the beginning of our 2026/27 season with our two day sides, colts and ladies teams hitting the field.

Unfortunately the rain on Saturday affected a few games with reduced overs for our top side, an abandoned match for our 3rd XI and a ground change up for our 2nd XI.

All sides put up a solid fight with our 1st and 2nd XI getting oh so close to a win. Our 3rd XI were in a solid position chasing down the op when weather prevailed.

Sunday saw close losses for our colts and ladies side but none the less yielded some strong performances.

Congratulations again to our debutants. Bring on the rest of the season!

—------------------------------------

Ospreys, a significant milestone to kick off the season - Michael Jones will play game 250 for the club, joining an exclusive list of members to reach this milestone.

Debuting in 2006/07, Jonesy started his playing career in the OD comp and lower WASTCA grades, working away in those early years until he became Club Captain, and eventually, leading Whitfords to a 1st XI flag in 25/26 and our promotion back into 1st Grade WASTCA.

As of game 249, his stats read:

Runs: 2775 @ 19.2
W: 481 @ 16.5
B.B: 9/10
4x Rotham medals, 6 flags, and numerous other Club and Association accolades - Jones has had some career (so far!).

Jones has also spent many years over the journey on the Club’s committee in various roles, ensuring the Club’s existence. He is consistently the first at training and the last the leave, and has set the standard in match preparedness over the years as Club Captain.

Michael’s commitment to the Club is undoubtedly unmatched - be sure to get around him this week in the lead up to the season opener on October 10th.
