Instead of counting how many hands techniques there are or following the same lessons you learned at white belt, perhaps take a dive into what you have and apply them.

The Taekwondo I follow has given me extreme latitude and a freedom to explore opportunities in combative tactics.

In this video I look at basic angles for dealing with crosses and centerline strikes. As we explore further, the strikes get closer, they are swung from different angles, timing becomes challenging, and more pre-emption is required to receive them. However, the basic techniques are still there and still underwriting the application.

Follow the form. Vary the form. Leave the form to find its lessons. This is a cycle of learning, and the reason I'm excited to train even after 4 decades in this space.
