Japanese Martial Arts - Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu Dojo All these nine schools have different techniques, weapons and philosophical approaches.

The Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is a school created by Dr. Massaki Hatsumi which main goal is to teach and spread the knowledge of nine traditional Japanese martial arts. Ninjutsu or Ninpo is taught in three of nine schools within the Bujinkan: Togakure Ryu, Gyokushin Ryu and Kumogakure Ryu. But Ninjutsu is not what Hollywood movies have shown us for the past 50 years. The myth of the shadow warrior we

弟子が準備できたとき、師が現れる

"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

A true teacher doesn't simply pass on techniques—they pass on values. Skill can be taught, but integrity, humility, consistency, and discipline are demonstrated through everyday actions.

These are the qualities that preserve traditions across generations.

Likewise, a student's responsibility extends beyond showing up to train. We must learn to observe, question, and develop the discernment to recognise not only technical excellence, but also character.

The relationship between teacher and student is built on mutual trust and respect—a gentleman's pact. It should never become a pedestal where ego replaces learning or loyalty blinds us to conduct that contradicts the very principles we seek to embody.

Nagato Sensei often reminds us: "Be a gentleman." To me, those words capture far more than etiquette—they speak of honour, accountability, and the responsibility we all carry, whether we teach or learn.

When choosing who to follow, look beyond the dojo floor. Observe how they treat others, how they respond to criticism, the type of relationships they have, how they lead their family, their students, and themselves.

Your instincts are often your best teacher.

Every grade earned today represents much more than a new patch or a certificate.
It represents the decision to keep showing up.

Behind every promotion there are early mornings, late evenings, sore muscles, frustrations, self-doubt, victories, setbacks, and countless repetitions. There are also the unseen battles—family responsibilities, work pressures, personal challenges, injuries, and the days when simply walking through the dojo doors was already a victory.

Progress is rarely measured by perfection. It is measured by consistency.

The dojo teaches us movement, timing, distance and technique, but those lessons have little value if they remain inside these walls. Real training begins when discipline accompanies us home, when patience strengthens our relationships, when humility shapes our decisions, and when resilience helps us face life's challenges with the same calm spirit we seek during training.

A grade is not a destination—it is a reminder of the responsibility that comes with continued learning.

To everyone who received a promotion today: congratulations. You have earned this milestone through dedication and perseverance.

Thank you all for trusting me with your martial arts journey.

Train with sincerity. Live with integrity. Let your Budo be visible long after you leave the dojo.

Saturday morning energy 💥

Nothing beats kicking off the weekend with our mini Ninjas than bringing the hype, the smiles, and the effort 👊

Today we went back to basics — learning and refining our rolling, punches, and dialing in those kicks. Coordination and gross motor skills foundations build strong martial artists, specially at this age.

Proud of the focus, the discipline, the listening skills and the energy these kids bring every single session 🔥 always with a smile in their faces.

Playing is a fundamental part of learning. Always play with an open heart, like a 3 year old. This is Sanshin.

As Sôke says: Understand?, Good, Play...

🔥 Building Foundations, Expanding Skills 🔥

Tonight’s session at the dojo started with Kihon Happo — the fundamental movements that form the backbone of our taijutsu. Kamae, timing, distance… everything begins here.

Seeking body alignment and movement allows permission for variations and flow, we then introduced Hanbōjutsu — exploring how these same principles extend into weapon work. The hanbō becomes an extension of the body then, not just a tool.

From basics to application — always refining, always evolving.

🥋 Train the fundamentals.
⚔️ Apply with intent.
🧠 Move with awareness.
