In this episode of Beyond The Buzzer, Josh, Jeremy, and Ryan dive into the ultimate question of NBL26 — who will be crowned champions?
Josh is all-in on his hometown Perth Wildcats, backing their depth, defence, and new additions like Sunday Dech, JLA, Windler, and Kristian Doolittle to deliver another title. Jeremy, however, believes the Adelaide 36ers have the MVP, the stars, and the depth to finally rise back to the top, with Isaac White ready for a breakout year alongside DJ, Cheatham, Humphries, and Harrell.
The debate doesn’t stop there. The crew also breaks down Grand Final MVP predictions, with Josh backing Kristian Doolittle to lead Perth to glory, while Jeremy sees Bryce Cotton owning the big stage once again.
And of course, we couldn’t talk NBL without discussing the league’s ultimate prize — the MVP award. Josh is convinced Bryce Cotton will capture his sixth MVP trophy, putting him just one behind Andrew Gaze in the GOAT conversation, while Jeremy agrees “Cotto” remains the man to beat heading into NBL26.
Packed with bold predictions, heated debate, and a whole lot of passion, this episode sets the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable NBL season.

🔥 Who’s Missing NBL26 Finals?
The Beyond the Buzzer crew debate which teams could fall short in one of the deepest NBL seasons ever.
Josh makes the bold call that the Sydney Kings — despite stars like Kendrick Davis, Xavier Cooks, and Matthew Dellavedova — might miss out due to a lack of outside shooting and depth at the five.
Jez fires back, saying the Perth Wildcats are in more trouble after losing Bryce Cotton, the league’s all-time great, with no star replacement in sight. Can Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. and Kristian Doolittle carry them, or will the backcourt struggles sink Perth?
The boys also weigh in on Cairns Taipans, Brisbane Bullets, and the Tasmania JackJumpers, before Ryan shocks everyone by dropping his four teams that won’t make it: Perth, SEM Phoenix, Tassie, and Brisbane.
With so much talent spread across the league, at least four high-quality teams won’t make the top six — but which ones?

🚀 Who’s the Next NBL Star to Make the NBA?
The Basketball Fix crew break down which NBL26 players are closest to making the NBA leap.
Josh backs Sam Waardenburg after his incredible season in Puerto Rico, where he went toe-to-toe with NBA veterans like JaVale McGee and Danilo Gallinari. With his ability to stretch the floor, handle the ball, and defend multiple positions, Waardenburg could be NBA-bound sooner rather than later.
Jez highlights Karim Lopez, the teenage phenom from the New Zealand Breakers. Just 17 last season, Lopez averaged nearly 10 points per game against grown men in the NBL. With draft projections placing him inside the top 5 of the 2026 NBA Draft, he may be the league’s biggest prospect since LaMelo Ball.
The boys also touch on Dash Daniels, Kendric Davis, Ashton Hagans, and Bryce Hamilton, exploring how the NBL has become the ultimate NBA pathway for both young stars and hungry imports chasing their shot.

Beyond the Buzzer is back for Season 2 of The Basketball Fix Podcast — and with NBL26 just weeks away, we’re diving into everything you need to know heading into tip-off.
We start with the biggest offseason moves, including Kendrick Davis teaming up with Matthew Dellavedova at the Sydney Kings, and why that backcourt could be one of the most dangerous in the league. Then we look at South East Melbourne Phoenix’s bold European imports, led by versatile forward Vrenz Bleijenbergh, and break down the shock of Bryce Cotton leaving the Perth Wildcats for the Adelaide 36ers.
From there, we shift gears to the NBA pipeline, debating which NBL stars are next in line — Sam Waardenburg, Kareem Lopez, and Dash Daniels all in the spotlight.
The crew then makes their way-too-early finals predictions: who misses out between Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Tasmania, Cairns, New Zealand and Illawarra? And to cap it off, we pick our Grand Final teams, with heated arguments about whether Melbourne United, Sydney Kings, or Illawarra Hawks are truly the favourites.
Whether you’re here for offseason analysis, bold predictions, or deep dives on NBL stars chasing the NBA dream, this episode has it all.
