World Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan Australia

Congratulations to all Oh Do Kwan members who competed in the 2026 WA State Championships in Poomsae on Saturday. A big thank you to our Poomsae Referees and Competition volunteers who helped make the competition possible. The Competition saw competitors from 15 Taekwondo academies representing 50 + club branches participating. Oh Do Kwan were again the most succesful club placing first overall.
1st Place Team Trophy Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan with 53 Gold Medals - 24 Silver Medals and 22 Bronze Medals.

GM Ross and Carmela Hartnett spent a succesful three days at the Oceania Presidents Cup, Australian Open and Oceania Championships on the Gold Coast. GM Ross was a National Team Coach at the Event, while GM Carmela competed. GM Carmela won three Gold Medals in Individual events and recieved Two Gold Medals in Team Events. GM Carmela also received a 9.133 score on one of her poomsae, which was the highest scoring poomsae for the Oceania Championships. GM Carmela continues to exibit the excellence of Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan.

Great day of competition with another successful WA Invitation championships now going for 40+ years. Oh Do Kwan won the Poomsae team Trophy with 28 Gold 15 Silver and 12 Bronze Medals and the Kyorugi team Trophy with 19 Gold 9 Silver and 7 Bronze Medals. Well done to all our competitors and coaches from our various clubs. A big thank you to all our referees and volunteers who make the competition possible.

Congratulations to our Oh Do Kwan Head Instructor GM Carmela Hartnett who teaches at our Maddington and Riverton clubs on winning Gold at the National Team Selections. The win earns her a spot on to the World Championships in Korea in September. Carmela is a multiple time World Championship medal winner and will be trying her utmost to add to her World Medal count. Congratulations also go to GM Ross Hartnett who has been selected as one of 6 National Coaches to the 59 member National team.
