BLUES PULLS OFF A THRILLING CHASE TO BOOK A SPOT IN THE SEMI FINALS!!

Royal Bengal Blue secured a great win against Bengal Warriors Stars, chasing down the target and winning the match by 4 wickets in an exciting contest.

Bengal Warriors Stars batted first and scored 158 runs. Our bowling performance was not at the highest standard today, but the team showed great effort and commitment, especially while playing in the tough conditions during fasting. @⁨Chris Webber⁩ was the standout bowler for us, delivering an excellent spell of 1 wicket for just 14 runs in his 4 overs. One key moment in the match came when their main batter survived a clear run-out opportunity that was unfortunately not given by the umpire, which could have changed the situation of the game. Despite that, the team kept the intensity high throughout all 20 overs, which was a very positive sign.

During the chase, Royal Bengal Blue lost two early wickets, but @⁨~Dan Murphy⁩ and @⁨Chris Webber⁩ built a very important partnership to stabilize the innings. Dan played a brilliant knock of 49 runs off 35 balls, while Chris contributed 38 runs from 42 balls, taking the game deep and giving the team a strong platform to chase the target.

After their partnership, we again lost two quick wickets, which put the pressure back on us. At that stage, the game required a special effort. @⁨Sumit Yadav⁩ and @⁨Zahin⁩ stepped up and produced an outstanding finishing partnership. At one point, we needed 40 runs from the last 3 overs, but both batters kept their calm, waited for the bad balls, and took calculated risks.

Sumit played an explosive innings of 32 runs off just 13 balls, while Zahin supported him brilliantly with 25 runs from 14 balls. One of the biggest highlights of their partnership was their excellent running between the wickets. They ran extremely hard, turning singles into doubles and doubles into triples, which made a huge difference in the chase. Along with timely boundaries, their smart running helped us cross the finish line.

Sumit Yadav was deservedly named Man of the Match for his quick-fire finishing innings that helped secure the victory.

CRICKET SUMMER 2025/26 RECAP:

Several Royal Bengals CC members had a memorable Premier Cricket season in WA. Royal Bengals CC takes a lot of pride to have our members representing the community at Premier Cricket level.

Naqi, Shahroz, Sumit and Rhid: they were a regular feature in the Rockingham Mandurah DCC 1st grade side and they helped the club to reach their first ever T20 finals.

Rubel: the mystery chinaman had a fruitful white ball season winning several matches for Gosnells 1st Grade dismissing some big names such as Jonathan Wells. He also ripped through the Aussie batting line up during practice and clean bowled Travis Head couple of times which turned a lot of heads.

Haris (C), Rony, Tawnid, Abhishek, Shadman: Haris, in his first year, showed great skills with the ball and leadership qualities which led to him leading the Second Grade XI to some crucial victories.
Rony was one of the pillars of the 2s middle order
and bowled some match winning spells.
Tawnid, as always, was amongst the best bowlers in the whole competition with his crafty left arm spin.
Abhishek, in his short run, made a huge impact opening the ball and bat for the second grade side.
The story of the season was Shadman. He took up the challenge of Premier cricket halfway through the season. He started in Fourth grade and worked extremely hard on his game. After a quiet few weeks, he scored his maiden hundred and soon found himself in the second grade side where he scored a stylish 41 against a strong bowling attack on debut. Not to mention his clinical wicket keeping performances!

Faysal: He had a great experience bowling at the England Ashes Team and Indian batting line up where he dismissed KL Rahul and Gill!

We are extremely proud of all these mentioned above who leads by example on and off the fielding setting a great example for the young generation coming up the ranks.

Great start by Royal Bengals Blues in the Meulemans Cup 2026!
After a horrid start to our batting innings, from 11/4, Zahin and Mitesh put on a rescue act to get us to 123.

Shahrukh set the tone early picking up key wickets. He was well backed up by the whole bowling unit to bowl the opposition out for 93.

What a performance from Shadman Shahriar and Ben!

🚨 RECORD. BROKEN. 🚨

Ben Schofield 🤝 Shadman Shahriar
214-run opening partnership in 4th Grade.

That’s the highest opening stand in club history for 4th Grade, blowing past the old record of 184 that had stood since 2014/15.

Absolute dominance from Schoey & Shadman.

Take a bow, lads. 🔥🏏
