SUB CUP 2026 - RUNNERS UP

Heartbreak in the grand finals for the Gold boys as they were so close to clinch their first Sub Cup Title in their first ever Sub Cup Final against the experienced Virsa CC.

We are extremely proud of the boys who have worked incredibly hard over the last three months on and off the field. They have set really high standards for the rest of the club in terms of the process.

This will hurt, but will only make us stronger and hungrier.

Despite the disappointment, this group is only getting started as their best is yet to come as a unit.

Congratulations Virsa CC.

ROYAL BENGALS GREEN-SUB CUP DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE CHAMPIONS IN THEIR DEBUT SEASON!

Incredible scenes at Maguire park as Royal Bengals Green defeated Gujrat Giants in a nail bitter.

In a low scoring game, the lads held their nerves to clinch their first trophy in only their first outing.

This a great boost for the club as they showed great spirits and unity throughout the tournament!

DEVELOPMENT GROUP SEMI-FINAL — MATCH REPORT

ROYAL BENGALS GREEN ARE THROUGH TO THE FINAL! 🏆🔥

What a complete team performance from Royal Bengals Green! With a place in the Development Group Final on the line, the boys delivered across all three departments — bowling, fielding and batting.

After winning the toss, the Royals elected to bowl, and Sayeed and Uddhav immediately set the tone with a disciplined powerplay. But it was the fielding that really stood out. Not a single catch went down, and four run-outs reflected the intensity in the field. Nipun produced two brilliant direct hits, while Sawgat was outstanding behind the stumps, constantly keeping the opposition under pressure.

The bowlers then took complete control. Sayeed was incredibly economical with 3-1-8-1, while Shuvayu produced another match-winning spell, taking 3-0-16-3 — including a HAT-TRICK! 🎩🔥 His outstanding performance earned him back-to-back Player of the Match awards. Jeri also impressed with a miserly 1/5 from two overs, as Royal Perth Strikers Gold were dismissed for just 67 in 14.1 overs.

Chasing 68, Nipun and Sufyan made sure there would be no early nerves. Nipun attacked from the outset with a quick-fire 20 off 13, before Sufyan took control of the chase. Alongside Sayeed, he calmly guided the Royals home, finishing unbeaten on 34 as Royal Bengals Green completed a commanding nine-wicket victory.

🏆 ROYAL BENGALS GOLD ARE INTO THE GRAND FINAL!

History made. After 13 years, Royal Bengals have reached their first-ever Sub Cup Grand Final!

In a high-pressure semi-final, Haryana Royals posted 132 all out, but once again it was the Royal Bengals spin duo of Rubel and Tawnid who changed the complexion of the innings. Both finished with outstanding figures of 3/16, consistently slowing the scoring and picking up crucial wickets through the middle overs. Tawnid also produced an incredible grab — a genuine catch-of-the-season contender.

Fahim delivered a brilliant and crucial over late in the innings before Abhi and Haris were outstanding at the death. Haris finished with 2/12 from 3 overs, as Royals closed out the innings and restricted Haryana to a very chaseable 132.

The chase began with an early setback, losing Rony in the first over. But Shahroz and Abhi responded with a composed partnership that settled the nerves and rebuilt the innings. After Abhi departed for 21, Rhid joined Shahroz, and the pair calmly moved Royals ahead of the required rate.

On the biggest stage, Shahroz was back to his brilliant best. He showed his class, composure and shot-making ability when it mattered most, producing a magnificent 57 from 40 balls.

His dismissal triggered a dramatic twist, with Royals losing four quick wickets and suddenly finding themselves under pressure. But Rhid refused to panic. He kept his composure, fought through the tense period and, with valuable support from Haris and Parvez, edged Royals closer to history.

And there couldn’t have been a more fitting finish.

Captain Swarup struck the winning runs, with Rhid unbeaten on 31, sending Royal Bengals into their FIRST-EVER SUB CUP GRAND FINAL after 13 years! 🏆🔥

Royal Bengals Green are through to the Development Group Semi-Finals! 🔥

Batting first, the Royals posted a competitive 144/6, led by a composed 39 from Sayed, before Uddav’s unbeaten 33 off 25 provided an important finish to the innings.

Defending 144, Shuvayu produced a match-winning spell, ripping through the opposition with an outstanding 4/12 from four overs. Uddav completed a brilliant all-round performance with 1/12 from three, while Abdullah kept things extremely tight, conceding just 23 from his four overs.

66 Tamil Boys were restricted to 120/9, handing Royal Bengals Green a convincing 24-run victory.

🏆 QUARTER FINAL MATCH REPORT

Royal Bengals Gold CC beat Brabham XI by 4 wickets

Royal Bengals Gold booked their place in the Sub Cup 2026 semi-finals after a hard-fought four-wicket victory over Brabham XI in a match dominated by the bowlers.

Bowling first, the Royals produced another outstanding performance with the ball. The spin attack once again took control of the game, with Tawnid leading the way. He delivered a match-defining spell of 4/9 from four overs, including the crucial wicket of Brabham’s key batter just as they looked to build some momentum.

Rubel was equally difficult to get away, picking up 2/10 from 3.2 overs, while Fahim continued the squeeze with another economical spell, conceding just 11 runs from his four overs and taking a wicket. The trio gave Brabham virtually no opportunity to break free through the middle overs.

With the damage done, the pacers finished the job brilliantly. Abhi picked up 2/26, while Haris claimed 1/16, as Brabham XI were bowled out for just 88 in 19.2 overs.

The chase wasn’t completely straightforward. At different stages Brabham threatened to make a small total feel much bigger, and the Royals suffered a slight hiccup with wickets falling.

But Abhi played an important hand with 15 off 15, before captain Swarup showed composure under pressure to guide the chase home. Haris provided valuable support alongside the skipper, and the pair ensured there would be no late drama.

Royal Bengals Gold reached 89/6 in 18.2 overs, sealing a four-wicket victory and, most importantly, a place in the FINAL FOUR! 🔥

Another knockout game. Another pressure performance. Royals march on! 🐅🏆
