We sent a team to the annual event. Back story – the Sharks have been circling this tournament
since its inception 7 years ago, and we still haven't been asked to leave.
In fact, a Sharks team of Bear and Brett Rickwood won the very first one, a result they have
generously reminded everyone about the win ever since.
This year our team went again, finishing 2nd on shots. The school of sharks were undefeated, 4
wins for the day: 4s in the morning, 2 games of pairs and a final game of 4s. Undefeated and still
only 2nd; clearly the maths was done on a damp wet green.
The real challenge is opening on a damp wet green before moving to the synthetic. Our longerserving members were on their hands and knees beforehand, smelling the grass and
worshipping their roots – the rest of the field assumed they'd lost a contact lens.
Congrats to Brett, Bear, Con and Skipper Whitty. A big thanks to North Perth bowling club on another great charity 4's event.

A successful event unfolded at East Freo Bowlo on Sunday, featuring the winter Scroungers final where twelve victors competed for the coveted Scroungers Cup.

Despite Bear Simon Schmidty attempt to achieve a three-peat, the competition among the bowlers was formidable. Ultimately, there could only be one champion, with Lew Watts demonstrating a strong finish in the final to be crowned the 2026 Scroungers champion. We extend our sincere gratitude to Karen and Pat for their exceptional management of the Scroungers event this year.

The East Fremantle Bowls Club recently hosted its annual wind-up event, which was exceptionally well-attended. The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards to this year's club champions and the recognition of the "Best Club Person of the Year." This esteemed award was presented to Con Polkinghorne , acknowledging his significant contributions and diligent efforts in organizing various bowls functions throughout the year. His dedication is truly commendable and well-deserved.

In terms of on-green achievements, we celebrated the remarkable performance of Jarunee Jamuadee , a first-year player who secured victories in the Ladies Novice, Ladies Singles, Ladies Pairs, and Mixed Pairs. She also earned her first eight badges and narrowly missed the Champion of Champions title, falling to Brett Rickwood by just three shots. Her inaugural season has been truly outstanding. Congratulations are also extended to all other award recipients for their successes. It has been a highly successful season for the entire club.

The event concluded with a poignant tribute to our esteemed colleague and dedicated club member, Kevin Fox. In his honor, and with the participation of his family, we unveiled the naming of "Foxy's End" on A green, a fitting and lasting tribute to a remarkable individual.

And big thank you to Daz Easton for taking photo on the day.

Good luck to all our East Fremantle players in the champion of champion Novice and Men's Singles! We've got Peay Schmidt and Elijah Blackwood playing in the Novice, and Brett Rickwood in the Men's Singles.

Both Peay and EJ are playing at Warwick Bowls Club on Sunday, and Brett is playing at Rossmoyne. It would be awesome to see some of you come down and support Peay, EJ, and Brett on Sunday.

Congratulations to Elijah Blackwood and his team, Lucas Perez and Kyle Harwood, for reaching the Western Australia state U/18 triples final today for the second consecutive year. Although they did not secure the win, their effort was commendable. Elijah will be competing in the pairs tomorrow, and we extend our best wishes to him.
