Indomitable Spirit
(1 Minute Read)

Rhee Tae Kwon Do is far more than a system of self-defence. It is a lifelong discipline that develops strength of character, mental resilience, and an unbreakable warrior spirit.

Inside the dojang we train our bodies. More importantly, we train our mind, discipline, and perseverance. Through structured martial arts training, we learn how to confront adversity, overcome fear, and break through the limitations we once believed defined us.

Every class presents new challenges. Every technique demands greater precision. Every moment of fatigue tests our resolve. Under the guidance of our instructors, students are continually pushed to develop not only physical skill, but also mental toughness and personal integrity.

This is the deeper Tae Kwon Do philosophy.

A true martial artist does not quit when things become difficult. A true martial artist perseveres. When faced with obstacles, they step forward. When they fail, they stand up and try again. This relentless determination is what martial artists call Indomitable Spirit.

In Rhee Tae Kwon Do, giving up is never an option. We persist. We endure. We rise again and again until the obstacle is overcome.

When cultivated through years of training, Indomitable Spirit becomes more than a concept. It becomes part of who we are. It shapes how we lead, how we serve others, and how we face the challenges of everyday life.

This is the spirit of the warrior.
This is the power of martial arts discipline.
This is the Indomitable Spirit of Rhee Tae Kwon Do

Rhee Tae Kwon Do Training Withdrawal
(1 minute read)

For students who love Rhee Tae Kwon Do, the annual one-month break can feel like pure torture. Training is not just an activity or a hobby. It is an integral part of who they are.

Eat, drink, RTKD, sleep!

The dojang is more than a place to train. It is where a martial artist feels at home. It is where we feel in control, capable, confident, and proud of what we have achieved.

We leave our shoes at the door as a symbol of leaving the outside world behind. For that one hour of training, our focus is singular. Self discipline. Personal growth. Becoming a better individual.

So why do we take a long break once a year?

The break gives us time to reconnect with our loved ones, away from work and personal commitments. It allows our bodies to recover from injuries. It gives our minds time to reset and process everything we have learned throughout the year. Most importantly, it gives the embers of our spirit time to re-ignite.

With 7 days to go until we return to training, this is how we prepare for another strong year of RTKD. Take long walks. Stretch while watching TV. Eat well and sleep well. If you feel the urge to practise a pattern or two, do it slowly, focusing on correct technique and breathing rather than power.

And just like you, all instructors and black belts are counting down the 7 days until we see you back in the dojang.

If you have been watching from the sidelines and thinking, โ€œThis is exactly what my child needs,โ€ or perhaps what you need too, the New Year is the perfect time to start, and we would be pleased to guide you from the very first step.

Training for RTKD WA resumes on Monday 12th January at all training centres across WA!
