Centre Championships 2026 – Key Information
📅 Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th March 2025

Here’s everything you need to know to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event for athletes and families.

⏰ Early Start Time
📢 Warm-up: 7:00 AM
📢 First Calls: 7:15 AM
📢 Chaperone Meeting: 7:00 AM (outside the office)

Please be aware that the Championships have heats and finals, which require an earlier start time. The schedule may also extend into the afternoon.

📜 Competition Rules
For all U7+ athletes who have registered, please take note of the following competition rules:

✅ Event Participation:
Athletes can only compete in events they have pre-registered for (if their name is not on the event list, they cannot compete).
Changes to event start lists require approval from the Records & Ranking Officer.

✅ Heats & Finals:
All heats are randomly drawn and timed to the 100th of a second.
Finalists are determined by the fastest times in accordance with Centre Competition Rules.
Final sizes depend on track conditions and equipment availability.
If there aren’t enough athletes for heats, the event may be run as a straight final with approval.

✅ Field Events:
U7-U9: 3 attempts in all field events (except High Jump).
U10-OPEN: 3 attempts, followed by one additional attempt for the top 8.
If fewer than 8 athletes start, all athletes get 4 attempts.
The best performance across all attempts wins.

✅ Medals & Tiebreakers:
🏅 Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in all finals.
📊 In the event of a tie in field events, a count back will determine placements.

✅ Marshalling & Uniform Rules:
Strict adherence to marshalling calls and rules is required – if an athlete is not in the Call Room before their event, they will not be allowed to compete.

Correct Centre Uniform MUST be worn:
Club singlet Plain navy blue shorts or black (Wanneroo ONLY) OR Kingsway branded navy blue shorts. If wearing non-Kingsway shorts, any logos must be smaller than a matchbox (as per Athletics West Rules).

🎖 PB Ribbons
🏆 Every athlete will receive a PB ribbon for every Personal Best achieved!
These will be available from your chaperone throughout the weekend.

📋 Order of Events – Important Reminder
⏳ The usual order of events may not be followed! With extra events on the schedule, don't assume your age group will start at the same event as usual.

💡 Arrive on time to avoid missing your event!
