Nearly 1 in 2 children are leaving primary school without meeting Australia's national swimming benchmark.

According to the Royal Life Saving National Drowning Report 2025, 48% of Year 6 students cannot swim 50 metres continuously and tread water for two minutes. These are the minimum swimming skills expected by the time a child finishes primary school.

Swimming is more than learning strokes. It's about building confidence, developing endurance, and giving children the skills they need to stay safer in and around the water.
