Aveley parkrun

158 of you turned up on this beautiful morning for event #644, supported by a great team of volunteers!

🏆 A huge congratulations to Jack, Callum, Lauren and Michael on your milestones, and a warm welcome to the 10 people who did their first ever parkrun today! We also had 4 people join us for their second ever parkrun - which is often the hardest! We're so glad you came back to see us again!

🎉 A special shout out to everyone who stepped up today to help a little bit more where needed - a combo of me being sick and missing my 'big' voice, and us needing a few more barcode scanners! I've popped our vollie photo in the summary image but our wonderful marshal, Stef, had to shoot away before we took it - thanks for your help Stef!

🌳 A quick reminder - we are so lucky to share our beautiful park with the local community! Because the path can get very crowded right after the start, please keep an eye out for other park users heading in the opposite direction. Let's be mindful of our surroundings and make sure we avoid running 3 or 4 abreast so there's always a clear lane for oncoming traffic to pass by safely with a smile. I know I'm not alone in my love for our Aveley parkrun community, so lets ensure we're always spreading the good vibes out into the rest of the park and the people in it.

The roster is full, and it looks like the Aveley dome will be doing its job! We're all go for parkrunday!

See you at Aveley Central Park, run brief starts at 7:45.

If the forecast is anything to go by, the Aveley dome will be in place for Saturday and it will be great for parkrun.

However, we're still short some volunteers, which means no parkrun no matter how good the weather is.

We still require a Marshal and a Tailwalker. Please let us know if you're keen to step in!

I'm sure many would have rathered stay in bed this morning (and given the influx of people we had in the minutes before 8, I'd say a lot of people considered it!) but it was great to see 113 smiling faces at Aveley parkrun this morning. Shout out to the first timers who chose a morning when the temperature was in the single figures to give parkrun a go, we'd love to see you back! As always, special shout out to the volunteers, it doesn't happen without you. Please have a look at the roster for the upcoming weeks and let us know if you'd like to don the vest!
