INDIGENOUS ROUND 2026 ❤️💛🖤 What a special day for our club and hockey community!

Ahead of National Reconciliation Week, UWAHC was proud to host Indigenous Round at home alongside Melville Bringing players, families, supporters and the wider hockey community together to celebrate culture, connection and reconciliation.

The day was highlighted by a moving Smoking Ceremony, while players from both UWA and Melville proudly wore the Indigenous playing strip designed by members of the Golding family.

On the field, both Premier League sides delivered strong performances, with the Women’s 1s defeating Melville 5–2 and the Men’s 1s securing a 2–0 victory!

While the results were pleasing, the true success of the day was seeing our community come together to learn, listen and celebrate the rich cultures and histories of First Nations peoples. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated and helped make the round such a meaningful occasion. Reconciliation is a journey that belongs to all of us, and days like these remind us of the power of sport to bring people together.

Thank you to Lexie Pickering for putting together this one 📸 💚

Tonight Maddie DeSilva will run out for her 150th First Division game for UWAHC.

Maddie has been a mainstay in the Women’s 1’s from 2016, and before that played juniors at the club from 2011. Mads is known for her presence and reliability at the back, silky skills down the sideline and important stopping tackles.

Maddawg is known to be tough, loyal, hardworking, humble and truly dedicated to UWAHC.

Maddie is a leader on and off the pitch within the Women’s squad, and in the wider club, having been volunteer coach through her teen years and more recently a Senior Committee member for a number of years before joining UWAHC’s board this year - no small feat for a 25 year old!

Maddie is a truly valued and valuable player and club person, giving so much time and passion to UWAHC. The club is looking forward to many more games and seasons in the green and navy to come.

The Women’s 1’s play Lions, 7pm Tuesday (today!!!) 2nd June at Shenton turf, rug up and we hope to see you there to support the team and celebrate Maddie’s 150th! 💙💚
