🖤💚 BALGA SC CLUB STATEMENT 💚🖤

Balga Soccer Club has made the difficult decision to part ways with First Team Head Coach Gerhard Janssen.

Gerhard joined the Black & Greens in 2021 and immediately set about rebuilding the club’s senior program. Over the past five seasons, he has played a significant role in shaping the direction of the club, assembling a competitive squad and helping establish strong foundations for the future.

During his time at Balga, Gerhard led the club through many memorable moments and came close to guiding the First Team to the promotion play-offs on a number of occasions. More importantly, he built a culture based on commitment, hard work, and pride in representing the Black & Greens.

While Gerhard’s contribution on the field has been substantial, it is important to recognise that his family’s support has also been invaluable to our club. From assisting behind the scenes to supporting club events and helping wherever needed, the Janssen family has become an important part of the Balga community.

Community football clubs rely on people who are prepared to give their time, energy, and passion for the benefit of others, and the Janssen Maluga family have done exactly that throughout their time with us.

On behalf of the committee, players, members, volunteers, and supporters of Balga Soccer Club, we would like to sincerely thank Gerhard and his family for everything they have contributed over the past five and a half years.

They will always be welcome members of the Balga family, and we wish them nothing but success and happiness in the future.

The club will announce its new First Team Head Coach soon.

It was an unbeaten day for the Black & Greens at Grandis Park, with our teams picking up some valuable results against Carramar Shamrock Rovers 👏🔥

Carramar Shamrock Rovers 0–0 Balga

Our First Team battled hard in a tight contest, but neither side could find the breakthrough. While the goals didn’t come, the boys produced a solid defensive display and had the better of the chances to win the game. Unlucky boys, much better performance.

⚽️ Under 23s
Carramar Shamrock Rovers 0–5 Balga

The Under 23s were in outstanding form, producing a dominant performance to run out convincing 5-0 winners. It was a clinical display from the boys, who controlled the game from start to finish and deservedly took all three points.

⚽️ Under 18s
Carramar Shamrock Rovers 3–3 Balga

The Under 18s were involved in a thrilling six-goal contest, fighting hard to earn a 3-3 draw. In an entertaining game played at a high tempo, the boys showed great character to come away with a point and could have won all three points.

A good day overall for the Black & Greens, remaining unbeaten across all three grades and continuing to build momentum as the season progresses 👊💚🖤

There are no games this Sunday for our Amateur First Team and Reserves, so we thought it was the perfect time to take a look at the current Amateur Division Four ladder 👀🏆

Martyn Day’s First Team is sitting proudly on top of the table with a perfect 100% record so far this season 👏🔥

A huge congratulations to Martyn, his coaching staff, and all the players on what has been a fantastic start to the year. The hard work, team spirit, and consistency shown by the boys has been outstanding 💪🖤💚

The challenge only gets bigger from here though 👊

Our next game is away to Morley-Windmills on Sunday 7 June at Wotton Reserve. Windmills are also unbeaten this season, so it promises to be a massive clash between two in-form sides 🔥⚽️
