Well Suns family, they say third time’s a charm… and after accidentally leaving out a team and getting the dates wrong, we’re pretty confident we’ve finally nailed it! 😅

This weekend is our Sock It to Sarcoma Round, and we’re asking all players, families, coaches, volunteers and supporters to get involved by wearing your odd socks and making a gold coin donation.

A big shout out to our Year 8s, who have now officially made it onto the fixtures poster (sorry team! 🤦‍♀️), and thank you everyone for your patience while we got the dates sorted too!

This round, the Caversham Suns are proud to support Sock it to Sarcoma and help raise awareness and funds for those affected by sarcoma.

We’re asking all players, coaches, families and supporters to:
🧦 Wear your odd socks
🪙 Bring a gold coin donation

Please give your gold coin donation to your Team Manager or Coach, who will collect donations on behalf of the club.

What is Sarcoma?
Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that develops in the body’s bones or soft tissues, including muscles, fat, blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. It can affect people of all ages, and funds raised help support vital research, awareness, early detection and improved treatments.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps make a difference.

Year 7 Yellow and Red enjoyed a well-earned pizza feast after training, thanks to the club’s team support program. Each team receives funding throughout the year to put towards a fun activity, and our boys certainly made the most of it! After a hard session on the pitch, there was no better way to refuel than with plenty of pizza. Safe to say it was a big hit with the team! 🍕

🏉 100 Games – Finn Jennings (Year 10) 🏉

Congratulations to Finn Jennings from our Year 10 team on reaching the incredible milestone of 100 games! This outstanding achievement is a testament to his commitment, dedication, and passion for the club over many seasons. We are incredibly proud of Finn’s contribution to the team and club and look forward to seeing many more games to come. Well done, Finn!

Congratulations to Jacob and Jack from Year 7 Yellow on reaching their 50 game milestone! A fantastic achievement that reflects your commitment, teamwork, and dedication to the club. Well done, boys! The club are proud of you and can’t wait to see many more games ahead! ❤️💛

Another big weekend of footy is ahead for the Suns! With sunshine forecast for Saturday, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day to get down and support our teams. Sunday is looking a little wetter, so don’t forget the raincoat and umbrella as our players take the field.

In Round 10 (3–5 July), our club will proudly participate in Respect Round, a statewide initiative promoting equality, safety, and respect in sport.

Respect Round highlights the importance of creating environments where everyone feels valued, included, and safe. It is an opportunity for players, coaches, volunteers, officials, members, and supporters to come together and reinforce the positive culture that makes our club great.

By showing respect on and off the field, we help build stronger teams, stronger clubs, and stronger communities.

🏉 Year 7 Australian Football Carnival 🏉

Today, several of our Caversham Suns Year 7 boys proudly represented their high schools, La Salle College and Swan Christian College, at the Year 7 Australian Football Carnival.

It was fantastic to see the boys competing with great sportsmanship, teamwork and determination throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented both their schools and the Caversham Suns community.

Well done, boys – your hard work and commitment to footy continue to shine on and off the field! 🏉☀️

🏆 Round Award Winners 🏆

A huge congratulations to Troy B, Troy K and Joshua from Year 9 Red on earning this week’s awards! 👏

All three boys played their roles brilliantly, showing great effort, determination and teamwork throughout the game. Their willingness to work hard for their teammates, compete strongly at every contest and never give up made a real impact on the day. It was fantastic to see their positive attitudes and commitment rewarded.
