A further congratulations must go to two Manning players who also received awards for their performances for the state team(s) at the Bowls WA Awards night last Friday

David Downey received the Allan Eddy-Rod Wishart Trophy as the outstanding player of the WA Open Men’s state team at the Side Series in Tasmania last November

And Kristina Van Nierop received the Beryl Godfrey Trophy as the outstanding player of the Women’s Open state team - I believe this is at least the 7th time Kristina has won the award, and it could even be more!

Congratulations to our own Sharon Lynch on being recognised as the Official of the Year at the Bowls WA Awards night on Friday evening 👏

When not sending down a bowl Sharon is a fantastic servant of the laws of the game who has officiated as an ITO across state, national and international events (Including marking the Australian Open Women’s Singles final) over the last year, and Sharon will be heading off to officiate at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in a matter of weeks, a tremendous honour in of itself

After a highly successful weekend at Mount Lawley, congratulations to our own Warren Holt on winning the 2025-26 Mount Lawley Men's Masters Singles, defeating Mount Lawley local Anthony Einfeld 21-10 in the Final this evening!

An update from our own Sam Perica at the World Bowls Indoor in Ocean Grove - He is due to play Corey Wedlock today at 5pm (3pm WA time) but is dealing with a torn quad which took him out of yesterday’s singles action, so unfortunately that contest may not happen…

Still, it was good that Sammy was able to take time out of his busy schedule to have a photo with Corey and a young fan named Jack that came down from Sydney to watch him 😀
