GOLD at the Nationals!

Congratulations to Manning’s own Kristina Van Nierop and Laura Butler on taking out the Gold Medal in the Women’s Pairs at the Australian Championships at Mount Lawley on Tuesday night!

After trailing in the 1st Half against the Tasmanian champions Jean Claridge and Debra Lee, Krissy and Laura powered away in the 2nd Half to win the Final 22-9!

A fantastic result for Manning and WA bowls, State champions and National champions, GOLD in the Golden West!

Congratulations to all the Manning players who represented Western Australia in the Over 60s Side Series and Open Sides Series at Osborne Park this week

Helen Heal featured in the Women’s Over 60s team that finished 3rd Overall 👏

Kristina Van Nierop played as a Skip in the Women’s team and made her 150th appearance for Western Australia against South Australia on Tuesday, becoming the 6th player to play 150 games for the WA Women’s team 👏

Callum Alberti (on debut), Scott Walker, Anthony Williams, David Downey and Warren Holt played in the Open Men’s team, helping WA to 2nd in the Alley Shield standings, the best result for the Men’s side at the Sides Series in some 19 years 👏

On top of that, Ant was named alongside Daniel Trewhella as a joint winner of the Allan Eddy-Rod Wishart Trophy as the outstanding Men’s player of the side series!

Also congratulations to Tom Mitchell in his first year as a state selector, all up it’s great to see a fantastic result for WA in the Sides series 👍

The Manning Darts Club singles championship for 2026-27 was held on Thursday night, and congratulations to first time winner Daniel Tan who defeated 2025 champion Jack Mason 2-1 in the final!

Congratulations to both players, and capping it off Daniel had a perfect record for the night, winning 6/6 group games, then the Semi and then the Final!

The Men’s club championship 2-Bowl Singles has been run and won for 2026-27, and congratulations to Keith Godfrey who defeated Greg Hogg in the final!

A battle for the advanced ages, well done to Keith on winning the event for the 3rd time (The first was way back in 2002-03), which I believe ties the record!

Congratulations to Callum Alberti on claiming the Bronze Medal in the Boys Singles of his last Under 18s Championships - Unfortunately
for us the last game with the Gold up for grabs didn’t quite go Callum’s way but a podium is still a fantastic result, and he’s got the Sides series to come 👏

Also congratulations to Sophie Hays (playing with Sylvia Burgess) on claiming the Bronze in the Girls Pairs earlier this afternoon - Great result and well done team WA! 👏

The inaugural edition of the Denis Murray Memorial Challenge will be held at Manning on the 24th of January 2027, and entries are open!

$10,000 in prize money, 48 team maximum, 4 divisions (Seeding to be conducted after first 2 games), maximum of 2 Saturday Premier League players per team, a great way to enjoy the long weekend!
