You have time, your priorities are just wrong.

You wouldn’t believe me if I told you how many hrs I used to work …….. Sleep?? Even today I still maybe get 3-4 hrs a night!!

Yet, I always made time for training!!!
No Excuses!! Old school is built different!!

He missed grading night and warm ups, (like a true Purple belt), so ………. we decided to make him work a little bit harder today!! Such a gentleman he stopped resisting mid round to let me adjust my wrist brace!! (No purple belts were hurt during today’s activities)!! 😅

Jiu Jitsu fixes everything!!!!!! 😅

A recent conversation with some very good friends recently lead to the conclusion,

A lot of people going through heaps of trauma at the moment, work, family, life, bills…… etc
Especially true in today’s economy!!

A lot of physical and mental stress.!!

My reply;

“You can’t control what you can’t control”!!
It’s all part of the journey, it’ll work itself out!!
Just keep showing up!!

Be patient, try to be a little better today than you were yesterday!!

Don’t sweat the small stuff!!
Learn to be Comfortable being Uncomfortable!!
Stay the path!!!

New Black Belt!!!!

This year (February 2026) marks my 35th year of training!!!! I have just as much love for BJJ today as I did on day one!! 🙏🙏🙏

Anyone that has trained with me over the past 3 decades appreciates what it takes to reach that next level!!!! Blood, sweat, tears, good days, tough days, sacrifices, commitment!!

When you start your BJJ you not only begin one of the most rewarding martial arts journeys in the world but you join a community, a family that has your back (literally) day in, day out!!

That’s what makes this even more special to me, to be able to award my 3rd Black Belt from Jean Jacques MACHADO BJJ Perth to Professor Jon Dennis!!!! (Jon Dennis) 🔥🔥🔥

Jon has been training with me for over 13 years and is the text book definition of BJJ Black belt!!!!
