🥜 Maintenance Reminder: Nuts 🥜
A PSA to roller skaters with wheel nuts. These need to be replaced. They do not last forever. Over time and after many wheel changes the nylock thread can perish. What happens then? Your wheel keeps falling off while skating 🪦 So as a general rule, replace your wheel nuts after 20 wheel changes or approx every 2 years.
If you have never changed your wheel nuts, it's time.

This one is for the Roller Skaters! Skaters, you need to change your cushions. They do not last forever. They perish with wear and with time. So yes, even the ones that you haven't worn for 10 years. They don't freeze in time. Cushions should be checked at least every 12 months, most skaters replace every 1 to 2 years depending on use and needs.
Cushions perish. They go cloudy, brittle, crumbly or over soft. If they are older than 2 years, crumbling underneath you or if you can easily pierce with your fingernail they are done, done, done.
Get new ones.
