🧦 Round 8 – Sock it to Sarcoma 🧦

This weekend, Kingsley JFC will be pulling up our craziest, brightest and most mismatched socks as we come together for a cause that means so much to our club community.

This round, we proudly honour one of our own — Connor, our resident sarcoma warrior.

Connor was due to play this season for the Northern KnightCats Red team, but after ongoing pain in his right tibia, he was diagnosed with a recurrence of Ewing sarcoma.

Connor is currently undergoing chemotherapy and continues to show the same courage, positivity and determination he has always brought to footy. His strength continues to inspire everyone around him.

It also helps explain why club ledgend and Auskick Coordinator Jules has been a little more absent around the club this season, with the family right beside Connor as he takes on this next challenge.

This weekend, we ask all players, families and supporters to wear their brightest odd socks, make a donation where possible, and show Connor and his family that the entire Kingsley JFC community is behind them.

Sock it to Sarcoma is a WA-based charity dedicated to funding vital medical research, raising awareness, and supporting patients and families affected by sarcoma.

🦅 Exciting news for our West Coast Eagles fans! 🦅

We’re thrilled to let our Kingsley JFC members know that a group of 4 - 6 West Coast Eagles players will be visiting the club this Friday night from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

The players will be floating around the Friday night matches, joining in warm-ups, sitting in the coaches boxes, helping with goal umpiring, and taking part in coin tosses across the games.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for our players and families to meet some AFL players and enjoy a great night around the club.

Make sure you get down to the club this Friday night and give the Eagles boys a warm Kingsley welcome!

💙 BIG FREEZE – THANK YOU, KINGSLEY! 💙

What an incredible day as our Kingsley JFC community came together for our Big Freeze event, raising an amazing $18,500 for Fight MND!

This year was bigger and better than ever, with the inflatable slide taking the event to another level. Through merchandise sales, bake sale goodies, raffle tickets, online donations and the incredible generosity of our community, we came so close to our $20,000 target, while also smashing last year’s total.

This year also carried extra meaning following the passing of Neale Daniher, a man who inspired so many through his courage, determination and tireless work in the fight against MND.

❄️ A huge thank you to every challenger who braved the cold for such an important cause.

💙 A very special thank you to Ma**ca Sumic, whose passion, organisation and tireless work helped bring the whole day together. Events like this do not happen without people putting in a huge amount of time behind the scenes.

Thank you also to the mums from the Year 2 Leopards and Year 3 Wildcats who baked so many delicious goodies for the bake sale.

We can"t wait for our KJFC Big Freeze event tomorrow! All welcome, come and cheer along all our KJFC Sliders who are representing Auskick from 9.30am! We have Auskick coaches, team managers, parents and even a few players who have been busy fundraising and helping our club reach the fundraising target of $20000 for ♡

Bih Freeze merch will be available, bake sale, BBQ, face painting and the big slide!!!

Get ready, Kingsley! 💙❤️

Our Big Freeze Event is almost here!

Join us from 9:30am as our brave challengers take on the 15ft waterslide, helping raise funds for critical research for FightMND.

There will be plenty happening on the day, including:

🧊 Big Freeze merchandise
🎟️ A special West Coast Eagles raffle prize
🎁 Kids toy hampers and more prizes to be won
🍰 Delicious treats from our footy mums’ bake sale
🎨 Face painting by Zaidia
💦 Unlimited kids water play after the challengers have taken the slide, with wristbands available to purchase

We’re also excited to welcome a very special guest, Eloise from FightMND Victoria, who will be attending our event.

The weather is looking perfect, with a sunny 22 degrees forecast, so come down, get involved, and help us support the fight for those we have lost and those still fighting MND.

💙 Vale Neale Daniher 💙

Today, the football community mourns the passing of Neale Daniher, a true legend of our game.

Neale’s impact went far beyond football. Through his courage, humour, resilience and relentless fight against motor neurone disease, he inspired Australians everywhere to stand up, care more, and keep fighting even when the odds were impossible.

For so many of us in community footy, Neale represented everything that is great about our game — leadership, family, mateship, toughness, humility and heart.

His legacy will live on through every blue beanie, every Big Freeze, every player who learns to fight with courage, and every family touched by the hope he helped create.

On behalf of everyone at Kingsley Junior Football Club, we send our deepest condolences to Neale’s family, friends, the Daniher family, FightMND, and the wider football community.

Rest in peace, Neale.

Good news, KJFC is doing it again, bigger, more involvement for junior players this year and a target of raising $20,000!
This years event will be on Saturday 6 June at the club and more details to come!
