Meet Jonathon Evans, Senior Building Surveyor at CBC.

Originally from the UK, Jonathon holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Surveying and has worked across a broad range of project types, including commercial, residential, educational, and emergency services facilities. His experience across varied sectors gives him a strong understanding of the practical and compliance demands different developments require.

He brings a balanced approach to his role, combining technical knowledge with broad project exposure across the built environment.

Outside of CBC, Jonathon enjoys football, golf, cycling, and swimming.

Meet Adam Babakarkhil, Senior Building Surveyor at CBC.

Adam brings 13 years of experience across local government and private practice, with work spanning residential, commercial, mining, and industrial developments. As a Level 1 Building Surveying Practitioner, he also holds an Advanced Diploma and Graduate Diploma in Building Surveying, with particular experience across apartments, education, and childcare projects.

His approach is shaped by broad sector experience, strong technical capability, and a practical understanding of the compliance requirements that support complex developments.

Outside of CBC, Adam enjoys spending time with family, AFL, cricket, boxing, cars, and reading.

Apartment developments are complex by nature — with multiple stakeholders, layered compliance requirements, and little room for error once construction is underway.

From early design through to construction, delivering these projects successfully relies on clear coordination, practical advice, and a strong understanding of the regulatory pathway.

Meet Rhonna Vukasovic, Personal Assistant to the Directors at CBC.

Rhonna brings more than 20 years of experience across both regional and metropolitan local government, with previous roles including Assistant Building Surveyor and Development Services Coordinator. Her background includes business process improvement and project management, giving her a strong foundation in supporting efficient operations and leadership.

In her role at CBC, Rhonna helps keep the day-to-day moving seamlessly, combining administrative expertise with a practical understanding of the building and development space.

Outside of work, Rhonna enjoys the beach, health and fitness, and hot weather.

With a background in building surveying and certification, Steve holds qualifications including a Bachelor of Building Surveying & Certification (Honours), a Bachelor of Building Surveying & Inspection, and an Associate Degree in Building Surveying. He brings over 20 years of experience in the construction sector across both government and private industry, including senior roles with the City of Wanneroo and McKenzie Group.

His work is grounded in practical industry knowledge, strong regulatory expertise, and a clear focus on delivering sound building compliance outcomes.

Outside of CBC, Steve enjoys sports, coffee, and tequila.

Meet Helmut Schwanke, Senior Building Surveyor/Fire Engineer at CBC.

With a background in building surveying and fire safety engineering, Helmut is a Level 1 Building Surveying Practitioner with a Master of Fire Safety Engineering and a Bachelor of Building Surveying. He brings over three decades of experience in building surveying and more than 20 years in fire safety engineering across both government and private sectors, and has also previously lectured at Curtin University and served as Deputy Chair of the Building Services Board.

His work is grounded in deep technical knowledge, extensive industry experience, and a practical understanding of building compliance and fire safety performance.

Outside of CBC, Helmut enjoys watching rugby.
