Each Wednesday evening, Champion Lakes Twilight Run/Walk takes place at the lake and you're welcome to join us.
Rain, hail or sunshine, we meet year-round at the lake at 6pm in Winter and 6.30pm in the summer.
We meet at the normal parkrun briefing location and run or walk the lake in an anti-clockwise direction with the fast runner's collie running back and forwards to the tail walker.
Please do remember to bring a headlamp or handheld torch so that we can see each other ๐ฆ๐ก

๐ค 59:59... for everyone?! ๐ค
For a brief moment today, it looked like everyone at Champion Lakes parkrun finished in exactly 59:59. While we'd love to claim a World Record for synchronised running, it turns out there was a small glitch in the results emails! ๐
โ
The issue has now been fixed. Please check the parkrun website or the app to see your correct result and official time. (You won't get a new email)
Thanks for your patience, and congratulations to everyone who definitely ran a time other than 59:59 today! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐

Good morning Champion Lakes parkrunners, walkers and volunteers!
Firstly, thank you to everyone who helps make our event possible each week, whether you're running, walking, or volunteering - you are an amazing part of our community.
As you will know, Champion Lakes parkrun only happens because of the wonderful people who give their time to support it and I'd like to make a small request regarding our volunteer roster.
Over recent months, we've often found ourselves needing to make weekly appeals through Facebook, emails and Messenger to fill volunteer roles for upcoming events. While we're always grateful when people respond, it would be fantastic if we could fill the roster ahead of time.
If you enjoy parkrun and haven't volunteered for a while, please consider putting your name down for a future week. Our volunteer roles are straightforward, training is provided, and volunteering is a great way to give back to an event that each of us enjoys being a part of.
One thing I've found is that after we finish a run or walk, most of us understandably want to get our barcode scanned, catching our breath, and enjoying a well-earned rest. As a result, volunteering for next week can easily slip our mind. Can i please encourage you to take a moment before leaving on Saturday morning to have a look at the roster and see whether there's an upcoming week where you could lend a hand.
Even if you can only volunteer a few times a year, if we each make this commitment it will make a huge difference in sharing the load across our wonderful community.
Iโll be mentioning this at the briefing on Saturday, and I'd love your support as we continue to put on this beautiful event each week.
Thank you again for being a part of Champion Lakes parkrun ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐
