After our first amateur tournament representing Phoenix Boxing Butler this weekend, one thing became very clear…
We want MORE.
More fighters.
More opportunities.
More young people discovering what they’re capable of.
And more Phoenix fighters stepping through those ropes. 🥊
Grassroots boxing is, and always will be, the foundation of world-class fighters.
Every champion starts somewhere.
And right now, Phoenix Boxing is building something special.
🔥 WE’RE LOOKING FOR MALE & FEMALE COMPETITIVE BOXERS.
Whether you’re already competing, have boxed before, or you’re training hard and wondering whether you could take that next step, we want to hear from you.
Competition boxing starts from 10 years old, and we want to build a strong pathway from our youngest amateurs right through to the professional ranks.

Giving women and girls the confidence to step into a space they may never have imagined themselves in.
And giving talented fighters the coaching, environment and opportunities to find out just how far they can go.
Our coaches will back you, challenge you, push you when you need it and help you reach your full potential.
We don’t know where the next Phoenix fighter will end up.

🥊 PHOENIX BOXING CLUB — FIRST AMATEUR FIGHT! 🥊
A huge milestone for Phoenix Boxing Club today, with Kolby Buttle stepping into the ring for his very first amateur fight!
Kolby went up against a young boxer from Nash’s Gym, which, in my opinion, is one of the top three gyms in Western Australia.
Kolby gave away a bit in weight, age and experience, but we were still confident going into the fight.
He started off strongly, controlling the middle of the ring and holding his ground under pressure. His taller opponent used his jab very well and made it difficult for Kolby to get inside.
Despite Kolby’s best efforts across the three rounds, he didn’t get the decision.
But what a start to Phoenix Amateur Boxing! 🔥🥊 The support from the gym was bloody awesome. Over 30 of us showing up and supporting our boxer, exactly what Phoenix is all about 🔥🔥🔥
Kolby showed plenty of heart, courage and determination in his first ever amateur bout. There are plenty of positives to take away, and this is only the beginning.
Our next amateur tournament is the State Golden Gloves on the 18th and 19th of September, with:
🥊 Ruben — 75kg Golden Gloves
🥊 Locky — 80kg Bronze Gloves
🥊 Kolby Buttle — 57kg Schoolboy Bronze Gloves
🥊 Darcy Buttle — 63kg Schoolgirl Bronze Gloves
Hopefully they all get matched and we can come away with four victories! 🏆

Today marks a HUGE milestone for us…
PHOENIX BOXING CLUB’S FIRST AMATEUR TOURNAMENT. 🖤
Unfortunately, Darcie wasn’t able to get matched, and Lachie has had to pull out due to injury.
So today…
🔥 IT’S ALL ABOUT KOLBY. 🔥
Kolby will be the first amateur boxer to step into the ring representing Phoenix Boxing Club, and we want as much of the Phoenix family there as possible to get behind him.
