Team Hippo, are throwing our first Shindig this weekend. After our Team Captain Ash rode 2200km across Australia in 6.5 days, now is the time for a pint to celebrate the achievement. We’ll have games, raffles and prizes. If you’d like to pop in and support the fundraising efforts, all are welcome 🥰
Thanks again for all your love and support on our mission to crush cancer.

As only Ash can, he ventured out solo today to try and get as much from himself as he could.
The incredible journey of 2,213 km in 6 days and 14 hours from Saturday morning in Trigg in the clutches of a cyclone to exhaustion on the other side of the Nullarbor just before Port Augusta on the side of the road. Ash made sure that every last drop of mental and physical battery was depleted.
This has taken a superhuman effort and the team are incredibly proud of Ash and are all recovering in Port Augusta.
The support in followers, messages, and most incredibly donations has been truly incredible and we can’t wait to continue building on these efforts.
This isn’t the end of Team Hippo, only the beginning.

Introducing the last and definitely least welcome members of the crew, the horseflies. They come in the hundreds, bite hard and can pe*****te from all angles (picture 3).

Introducing the second crew member, Kaitlyn. Brings endless infectious laughter sometimes driven by delirium. Mostly in charge of sunscreen application, driving and endless support for Ash.

Introducing the support crew. The first one silly enough to say yes to Ash was David. By day he’s in charge of snack(ing), water, and electrolytes. By night he’s keeping Ash company on the dark and lonely roads or fishing for trees.

Day 4 of the Trigg to Mt Beauty Cycle. Ash has faced some big challenges, but has also scored some big wins. It’s only going to be more challenging as the days continue but Ash’s stamina to push through is admirable.

Ash just caught up to another rider Laurie who is undertaking the IPWR and is making his way across the Nullarbor. He was proudly wearing his F*ck Cancer socks.
Feel free to follow the link in our bio and help team hippo crush cancer.

Behind the scenes. It’s not all smiles but we get through it as a team.

Morning on Day 3. The beginning of cramping, swelling and exhaustion, but Ash is back on the bike again after a 2:30am start and a short nap in between.
