It’s already more than halfway through this year!! Time truly flys, so make sure you make the most of it and continue make time to attend trainings regularly!! Seeing everyone continue to improve over this year has been very rewarding!
This month we are holding our first club grading. And following that on Thursday 17th QUT is holding their 3rd QUT Taikai! Registrations are still open so be sure to register while you still can, final applications will be taken on the 11th September.

Today was the end of the QKR Winter Seminar and Grading weekend. Many of our members attended the seminar on Saturday run by our very own Greg Nicholas Sensei!
Hana and Noah attended the grading today and were successful in passing! Congratulations to the both of you! We know just how hard you trained and it definitely showed in how you both conducted yourselves in your gradings 🥰

From May 23rd to June 1st, our club member Mio was away in Japan competing with the Australian National Team in the very 1st Asia Oceania Kendo Championships. This proved to be a challenging step in her kendo and was a valuable step forward in discovering her potential!
Congratulations to EVERYONE in the Australian Team who endured the exhausting and extensive training in the week leading up to the comp!
And of course congratulations to the Women’s Team who placed 3rd in the Tournament 🥳🎉🥉

We would like to thank all of our members who attended AKC for their great contributions not only to the QKR Team but to volunteering their time to help the AKC run smoothly! Keiko, Bear, Kaori, Hana, Tomoe and Mio all contributed greatly to the event.

Our schedule for April!
The first week of April will be a big one! QLD will be hosting the Australian Kendo Championships in the Gold Coast. We have multiple members from Kenyukai representing QLD across a number of events. We will also be seeing many of our members help run the event as volunteers! We look forward to seeing everyone there.
