2026 BRISBANE OPEN WATER MEET

- 10 swimmers took on the challenge
- 3 National Open Water qualifiers: Lily, Lyla and Corbin
- 6th - Liam, Boys 12 Years 2.5km
- 6th - Corbin, Men 13 & Under 5km
- 9th - Oliver, Boys 14 Years 2.5km
- 10th - Noah, Men 15 Years 5km

What a fantastic weekend of racing, resilience and open water experience. The same team (plus a few others) look forward to Open Water states next month and the chance to improve, gain more experience, and maybe even congratulate a few more National qualifiers!! 💙💛

Learning From the Best

Last Saturday, we had the privilege of welcoming Ali Disher, Accredited Sports Dietitian, to Pimpama Swimming Club for a fantastic nutrition session with our swimmers and parents.

Made possible through Swimming Gold Coast’s Grant, this was a fantastic opportunity for our club community to learn from someone with an incredible depth of experience in high-performance sport, including with the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS), Swimming Australia and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).

Ali shared practical insights into fuelling for training, competition preparation, race day nutrition, recovery and everyday nutrition. She truly helped our swimmers understand how what happens away from the pool can play such an important role in supporting their training and development.

We’re incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from someone with Ali’s expertise and experience, and we know our swimmers and families took away plenty of valuable knowledge to put into practice.

2026 QLD SC CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏆

Three big days. A whole lot to be proud of!! 💙💛

The 2026 Hancock Prospecting QLD Short Course Championships brought together the best swimmers from across the state, and our team stepped up to the challenge - racing with our PSC values of perseverance, sportsmanship and consistency from the first race to the last.

⭐️ 15 swimmers
⭐️ 65 swims
⭐️ 45 personal bests
⭐️ 35th/101 overall club points placing

And there were some incredible individual results along the way with our swimmers securing 34 Top 20 finishes, including 8 podium finishes and 3 Queensland Championship titles.

A huge congratulations also to Alex, Corbin, Danni, Hanna, Liam, Oscar and Ivy on their outstanding Top 20 state finishes, and to every swimmer who raced across the weekend.

Behind every race was weeks of preparation, countless hours of training and a team of coaches who put in the work to get our swimmers ready - providing guidance, encouragement and support during training and those difficult sets, to competition warm-up, and the final race.

To our coaches: thank you. Your time, knowledge and commitment make these opportunities possible, and our swimmers are incredibly lucky to have you in their corner.

To our 15 swimmers: you showed exactly what it means to represent our club and be a swimmer - perseverance when the races get tough, sportsmanship in every interaction, and consistency in the way you approach every training session to be able to qualify for States.

We couldn’t be prouder of you all 👏

T-2 DAYS!! ➡️

Last Saturday’s suited session marked one of the final steps in our preparation for the 2026 Queensland Short Course Championships, giving our swimmers the chance to practise race-day routines and mindset, sharpen their starts and turns, and build confidence ahead of the competition.

As our swimmers take to the blocks from Friday to Sunday, we know they’ll represent our club with the perseverance, sportsmanship and consistency that define who we are.

What an incredible performance!! 💙💛

A huge congratulations to Ivy on an outstanding effort at the 2026 School Sport Australia Swimming Championships.

After qualifying 5th fastest from the heats, she returned to the pool to race in the final, finishing an amazing 6th in Australia, touching the wall with a time of 36.28 - her second-fastest 50m Breastroke ever!! ⭐️

Congratulations on an unforgettable meet - we can’t wait to see what comes next!! 👏

Best of luck to Ivy as she represents Queensland at the 2026 School Sport Australia Swimming Championships!! 🇦🇺

Qualifying to compete at a national championship is an incredible achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder to see her lining up in the 50m Breaststroke against Australia’s best school age swimmers 🏊‍♀️🏊

While we can’t be there in person as the championships take place at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, our entire club will be supporting you from afar.

This season, our club continued to be guided by the values that define who we are: perseverance, sportsmanship, and consistency. They are the qualities that help create the culture we are proud to have within our club.

We were excited to introduce additional awards to our Annual Club Awards Afternoon this season. As our club continues to grow, we wanted to create more opportunities to recognise the many different ways our swimmers contribute and succeed. While competition results remain an important part of our sport, we believe it is equally important to celebrate dedication, improvement, and the embodiment of our club values both in and out of the pool.
