Pooraka Allstars Netball Club

Commiserations to Coach Aleisha & her Inter 3s, and Coach Justine & her Junior 6s. It wasn’t quite the fairytale ending to season both these teams were hopeful for, going down in their Grand Final matches last night despite the valiant effort produced by both teams.

After making their way through to Grand Final from 3rd place our Inter 3s took on the Minor Premiers, Hope Valley 3, in a hotly contested and physical match! It’s safe to say our Allstars fought right up until the last whistle, applying an immense amount of scoreline pressure onto their opposition throughout the last quarter to chew into the deficit, but sadly went down by as little as 4-goals.

Our Junior 6s had a bit of a tough night at the office, also finding themselves coming up against Minor Premiers, Pedare 3. Our Allstars were most definitely up for the challenge and left absolutely everything they had in the tank out on court, but unfortunately fell short against a very experienced team.

Nonetheless, both teams had incredible seasons and put an admirable amount of work/effort in behind the scenes to get to the point of playing in a Grand Final match, and we couldn’t be any more proud of all our Allstars! There’s just 2 teams who make a Grand Final match each season, and to finish up your season as RUNNER-UP PREMIERS doesn’t sound too shabby, especially when both teams consist of players who are playing up out of their dedicated age group. There’s only up from here for both of these teams!🙌🏼

We also wanted to quickly thank our replacement players for Inter 3, Ayla B from J4, and Emma M & Khyathi G from J5 who have stepped in over the past couple of weeks (and last night) to help the team with player numbers! Our Inter 3s faced a tricky situation over Preliminary & Grand Final night with a few players who sadly couldn’t be in Adelaide for recent matches. Whilst we missed our Inter 3 girls dearly, we really can’t thank our Junior girls (and parents) enough for stepping up and helping the team out! Our Inters wouldn’t have been able to play without your help, and your support meant everything to the girls — so thank you immensely!🫶🏼

Also a big THANK YOU to the family, friends, fellow Allstars and supporters who came out to cheer on both teams last night! Your presence didn’t go unnoticed, and we loved seeing everyone with their pom poms and signs❤️💙

Both matches will be played at 7:30pm with our Inter 3s on Court 7 & Junior 6s on Court 13.

Please don’t the weather prevent you from coming out!! A little bit of rain never hurt anyone. Umbrellas (and gum boots😆) are highly encouraged! All of these kids have worked so hard and deserve as big of a sideline that our B4s had last night! LET'S GO ALLSTARS❤️💙

A massive round of congratulations are in order for our Senior B5, Senior B6 & Senior C3-1 team who all took home the SADNA Best Team Sportsmanship Award for their grade last night!🤩

At Senior level, both officiating umpires award points to each team after games based on the level of sportsmanship that was displayed throughout the duration of the match. These votes are handed into SADNA after the completion of each game and tallied at the end of the Minor Rounds (ie. Round 14).

We have had countless teams be fortunate enough to win this award over the years, but to again have not one, not two, but 3 of our teams receive this award in a single season (after 3 x Senior teams were also honoured last season) is nothing short of an outstanding achievement, and highlights absolutely everything Pooraka Netball Club is about.

A special shout-out to our Senior B5 team who have won this award back-to-back-to back… whilst also taking out the award for Highest Votes Overall after polling the most votes out of all Best Team Sportsmanship Award recipients for Winter Season 2026👏🏼

A big thank you to our Allstars for coming out to SADNA tonight to represent our club & accept their award on behalf of the rest of their team! The honour honestly couldn't have gone to a more deserving group of athletes☺️ This award is a true testament of the amazing people you all are, not just on the court as players, but as individuals too! Congratulations Allstars❤️💙

YOUR WINTER SEASON 2026 SENIOR B4 PREMIERS🤩

A hugeee congratulations to Coach Belinda & her Allstars on an incredible 20-GOAL WIN in their Grand Final against Northern Lights 2 tonight, with a final score of 44-24 — bringing home the title of SENIOR B4 PREMIERS to cap off what was a dominant season for the team🌟 So well deserved after all the hard work they have put in behind the scenes to make this outcome possible, in the team’s first season playing together!

THANK YOU to all of the incredible supporters who cheered the team on tonight — all the family, friends, partners, fellow Allstars & everyone in between! The sideline was one of the biggest the club has seen in recent years🙌🏼 It was such a great atmosphere and your presence certainly didn’t go unnoticed☺️

🏆 A Presentation held by SADNA will take place on Court 1 on each night/day of competition, following the completion of all Grand Final matches. Pooraka Netball Club ask that players stay for the entirety of Presentation and do not leave until ALL teams have received their awards.

‼️IMPORTANT: PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THE CHANGE IN GAME TIME FOR ALL GRAND MATCHES, AS THEY DIFFER FROM WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN OVER MINOR ROUNDS.

We ask that players/parents please keep this in mind when it comes to your arrival time & finding a car park! Please also remember all Codes & Conduct and the SADNA Conditions of Entry in place, and that all (including players, coaches, officials, & spectators) are to adhere to these policies at all times.

These amazing Allstars played in their first ever Sub-Primary Carnival today!!🤩 The day was filled with big smiles, lots of chitter-chatter, hair glitter & “war” stripes, and the most beautiful sunshine🌞 The perfect way to finish up the season!

We would like to extend a MASSIVE thank you to Coach Alkira & Coach Rachael for all the time they have given to these kiddos this season. The first official competition season for a brand new Sub-Primary team can often come with its challenges! There are many new things and experiences for the kids to take in when progressing from a standalone training environment to association level competition, which can sometimes be overwhelming, but to say Alkira & Rachael have absolutely nailed the role (in what has also been their first season as coaches as well) would be an understatement. It has been such a joy to see the kids always smiling, having the most amazing fun out on court and over training sessions throughout the season, and to watch our Allstars build such beautiful friendships along the way🥰

WHAT A WEEK OF NETBALL!!😮‍💨 Our Inter 3, Junior 6, Sub-Junior 3 & Primary 3 team have all secured themselves a spot in the Grand Final in their respective grades this coming week after amazing Preliminary Final matches across Tuesday & this afternoon! Well done to everyone involved!👏🏼

Sadly our Sub-Junior 2s couldn’t quite get the job done today after a super intense, competitive & top quality match, going down to Tango 1 by as little as 1-goal in the dying seconds of the game. The team will finish up their season in 3rd place overall. Most definitely a season to be proud of❤️💙

Our Sub-Primary 3s also finished up Winter Season 2026 today playing in the Sub-Primary Carnival🌟

Congratulations to Coach Amanda & Assistant Coach Helen, and their Sub-Junior 3 team, and Coach Belinda & her Primary 3s who have both secured themselves the lucky last spot in their respective Winter Season 2026 Grand Final matches next week!!🤩

Our Sub-Junior 3s secured a dominant 10-goal win against Strikers 4, whilst our Primary 3s worked extra hard today to walk away with a 5-goal win against Pedare 1 — an opposition team our P3s haven’t quite been able to get on top of all season, until now! Both teams are now through to the big dance!!🤩👏🏼

As always, a big THANK YOU to all the family, friends & fellow Allstars who popped out to support our Allstars this afternoon!! We can’t wait to see those packed sidelines again next Saturday!🫶🏼

Our Inter 3s put forward a strong & mature performance against 2nd place, Tango 1, walking away with an impressive 18-goal win, having held the lead since the first whistle! Meanwhile, our Junior 6s were finally able to beat the opposition team they narrowly lost to on all 3 occasions both teams met over the minor round season, securing a 10-goal win against Gemini 1 — sending both our Inter 3s & Junior 6s through to the big dance!!🤩👏🏼
