The 618 SEPTEMBER SLAM NOVICE COMPETITION is now just three weeks away and we are excited to welcome new lifters to the platform here at 618 Barbell.

The 618 team is looking strong and we kick off today at 12pm (WA time) with the Masters RAW division.

This week, the team heads to Fremantle for the CAPO 2026 National Powerlifting Championships with Team SA!

We will be unstaffed Wednesday-Saturday ✈️

As we enter the second half of 2026, our next competition is the 618 Powerlifting September Slam Novice Competition on the 20th of September 💪🏼

Our novice events are perfect for those wanting to dabble in powerlifting, get their first platform experience or return to powerlifting after time away!

On Saturday, we hosted The Great Southern Push Pull for the very first time!

With collaborators Bloodshed, and sponsors Australian Muscle, Women’s Health + and Innov8 Plumbing, we were able to put on a show with $3000 in cash prizes along with vouchers and supplements gifts!

45 lifters put on a stellar performance, and we are so grateful for everyone who got involved with this event and were able to make it such a memorable night.

Also a big thank you to Mexican Madness and Miss Sippy for keeping the spectators and helpers fed and caffeinated!

Already counting down to this event next year!
