Port Augusta Junior Golf

Last Sunday we proudly hosted our first 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞 ’𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐲 session. Fifteen girls aged 5 to 14, many experiencing golf for the very first time, teed off into a fun afternoon of activities including Team Skittles, Cone Knockdown, and Putting Relay, with each game designed to build confidence in key skills such as putting and chipping. 🎯⛳

To finish the session, the girls headed out onto the main course to play a couple of holes of best ball — an absolute highlight for most of them and a wonderful way to experience “real golf” for the very first time. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and smiles made the day a standout success. 🏌🏼‍♀️

📣 A huge shoutout goes to our newly accredited Community Instructors and the Port Augusta Golf Club Ladies, who generously gave up their afternoon to share their knowledge and encouragement with these keen new golfers. 🙌💙

☀️ We hope to see many of the girls again during our Summer Clinic commencing in Term 4.

🏌️ With only two scheduled junior clinics left — this Sunday, 23 August, and our final clinic on Sunday, 13 September — now is the time for those interested to book a one‑on‑one lesson with Matt.

☀️ Another sunny winter morning set the scene for our second‑to‑last junior coaching clinic of the season. Sixteen enthusiastic juniors took part in a focused session built around putting and chipping.

Before heading out onto the practice areas, Matt delivered an important lesson on club care — showing juniors how to properly clean their clubs from the handle right through to the club face. It was a great reminder that good habits off the course are just as important as the skills they learn on it.

With only one clinic left this season, we look forward to what Matt and Kevin have planned when they return on 13 September ⛳🏌🏼‍♀️
