Athletes already get plenty of change of direction from playing their sport.

So in the gym, we want to work on the physical qualities that support it.

Being reactive off the ground, absorbing and producing force laterally, getting stronger side to side and building control through the hip, knee and trunk.

Giving them more physical tools to use when they’re back on the court or field 💪

The off-season is a massive opportunity to get better.

But what do you actually need to work on?

Speed? Strength? Power? Movement? Capacity? Robustness?

That’s why we test.

It gives us a starting point, shows us where the gaps are and makes sure your training is focused on what you actually need.

An off-season goes quickly. You can train hard for months, but if you’re working on the wrong things, you can hit pre-season with the same weaknesses you finished with.

And while you’re guessing, the athletes you’re competing against are getting better.

Test first. Train what needs work. Retest to make sure it worked.

Test. Train. Retest.

Don’t waste your off-season guessing.

If you’re heading into your off-season and want to make it count, send us a message about Performance Testing at Lift Culture.

Women’s footy offseason is here 🏉

Always one of our favourite times of the year in the gym.

Over the next few months we’ll have plenty of WAFLW, Rogers Cup and aspiring players coming through the doors, using the offseason to get stronger, more powerful and put some quality work in before pre-season rolls around again.

We’re lucky to work with some seriously talented female footballers each offseason, and we’re looking forward to another big one.

Spots for our 2026 Women’s Footy Offseason are now open.

If you’re keen to train with us this offseason, feel free to reach out 🤝

Athletes should train like athletes.

For our netballers, we want to build strength and power, but we also want them jumping, landing, accelerating, braking and moving in different directions.

The gym gives us an opportunity to develop all of those physical qualities away from the court.

Then over time, keep progressing them.

Stronger. More explosive. Better movers. More robust.

The goal isn’t to be good at the gym, It’s to use the gym to become a better athlete.

Pretty lucky to have so many great footy athletes come through our doors 🏉

Some are with us for a week.
Some spend their offseason with us.
Some have been training with us for years.

From established players competing at the highest level, to those pushing for their next opportunity, and the next generation coming through behind them.

Different clubs. Different stages of their careers. Different reasons for being here.

But all coming through the same doors to get better.

And looking at the group already starting to come together for the months ahead…this is going to be our biggest footy offseason yet 👀

A great season from the Flames girls 🔥 and looking forward to next year.

We’ve loved having a number of the girls training with us throughout the season and watching the work they put in behind the scenes.

Here’s some clips of some of the crew getting their work done at Lift Culture 💪

Congrats on a great season girls ❤️🔥

The players who make reps next season…

aren’t waiting for pre-season.

They’re building now.

Every year we see it:
Players finish the season → take time off → do a bit here and there…

Then show up next season expecting a different result.

It doesn’t work like that.

If you want to:
• Hit harder
• Run faster between wickets
• Bowl with more intent
• Actually last the full season

You need to train like an athlete, not just play more cricket.

That’s what this off-season is for.

At Lift Culture, our cricket program is built around:
→ Speed
→ Strength
→ Power
→ Resilience

So when pre-season comes around…
you’re not catching up…you’re ahead.
