80 years of Muay Thai history is etched into the memory of Rajadamnern Stadium.
On Saturday night, I got to witness some of Australia’s own Muay Thai history being etched into the memories of this great stadium.
Australia’s very first RWS World Champion. 🏆🇦🇺
At just 26 years old, Bryony Soden has put herself right up there with the legends of the sport — and she still has so much more to add to this incredible achievement in her career.
They say you need a big heart in this sport, no matter the result. On Saturday night, Bryony showed just how much heart she has, producing a comeback that had the whole stadium on the edge of their seats and, in doing so, writing her own piece of history.
“Proud” is a cliché that everyone uses in these posts, but this fight genuinely made so many grown men shed tears of joy and happiness. Watching you do this on such a stage was absolutely mind-blowing.
I am beyond proud of you — not just for achieving something that so many people dream of, but for the woman you are becoming.
Bryony, I have loved being in your corner every step of the way. Thank you, RWS Champion, for still having me in your corner. ❤️
To Strikeforcegym 🙏 and Mark Pease — I think this makes me an honorary member of the Strike Force team! 😂
Jimmy and Mik, what a great corner team. 👊
To the Three Lions Gym | Muaythai crew who came to support, and to everyone who tuned in — thank you.
And to the كاظم عبدالله الرواس team: thank you for everything you do behind the scenes to make this such a welcoming and incredible experience.
To my family back home, thank you for letting me come and be part of this, even though it meant missing the birth of my new niece. 🤗❤️
And finally, to all of Australia — and in particular, Muay Thai WA.
The first state to have an RWS World Champion. 🤍🖤🤍🖤
What a moment. What a fight. What a champion.
