I’ve been teaching karate for over 45 years, and one of the things I love most is seeing the kids I taught all those years ago grow up and now bring their own children to our academy to begin their own martial arts journey.

To see generations of families training together and continuing to support our academy is something truly special, and a reflection of the strong community we’ve built over the years.

The Mid Coast Martial Arts Academy proudly welcomes this little legend, Kai, to the mats! 🐉👏

Kai joins his big brother Taj in our Mini Dragons (3–5 years) program, and it’s heartwarming to see families enjoying their martial arts journey together.

We look forward to watching both boys grow in confidence, discipline, and skill while having plenty of fun along the way. 🥋🔥

Congratulations to all of our colour belts who demonstrated their skills today. Everyone trained hard and put in a fantastic effort, showing great determination, focus, and spirit throughout the grading. 👏

We also saw our black belts power through the third gruelling grading training session under the watchful eyes of Renshi Deb and Shidoshi Stu. Their commitment, resilience, and dedication continue to set the standard for everyone in the dojo. 🥋🔥

Two fantastic gradings today, starting with our Mini Dragons (3–5 years) who showed just how much they’ve progressed. Their coordination, discipline, and above all confidence were on full display.

They demonstrated impressive self-defence, sparring, and hand-eye coordination skills, making everyone proud with their focus and determination.

We’re incredibly lucky to have such dedicated instructors who are truly committed to bringing out the very best in these little legends. 🐉👏

It’s always great when we welcome our younger siblings to join us on the Mats like Zayne and his little brother Isiah.
