No Sunday Shakers games this morning.
The greens at The Westport Club are closed.
Hopefully our fun games of lawn bowls will be lucky enough to be able to play again next Sunday morning at The Westport Club.

No Sunday Shakers games this morning.
Yep 65 ml of rain since 9am yesterday morning is why.And more forecast this morning.
Inspection of greens yesterday Arvo and all 3 greens mainly underwater.
Weather permitting we will be back on deck for our regular fun games of bowls next Sunday morning.

Hi all
No Sunday Shakers fun games of lawn bowls this morning.
As is the case we do not play when Westport lawn bowls Sub Clubs have organised events on that Sunday mornings.
I encourage our group to join those events. Should those events be for members only, if it suits the sub clubs I will arrange separate games for those who could then be included in fund
raiser/charity events or whatever appropriate.
The Westport Men's Travelling Bowlers Club is off to Taree West this morning wavering the Westport flag.
To all have a safe trip and enjoyable day.
Yep Shakers will be back on deck next Sunday morning.

Finally the proposed BBQ lunch followed today's games.
Previous BBQ's for this year really did get to final planning stage due 2 multiple reasons, weather on many of these occasions 2 hot but today all good with proposed plans went ahead as planned.
Many thanks to those who attended and assisting making it a very rewarding/pleasant day for myself and all.
And of course to The Club and staff making the outdoor bar area open a little longer to cater for drinks with lunch.
It won't be long before our next very special BBQ lunch will be provided and hope those regulars who missed out today will be available 2 enjoy.

Yep we had a break from our usual games last Sunday morning to support the InterClub event at Port City Bowling Club
This is an annual event hosted yearly by Port City Men's Travelling Bowling Club and The Westport Men's Travelling Bowling Club.
A great time was had by all and a big thank you to all concerned who made it a very successful event. The event included the popular roast of the day that was both a generous serve and tasty. Very appropriate for the occasion and I am sure enjoyed by all..
The next will be at Westport and looking forward to that one when we get the opportunity to catch up with like minded blokes enjoying a fun game of lawn bowls n Tucker with the support of the main Club at Westport.

Aussie Day celebrations
Yep I understand that, a mixed game of lawn bowls have been arranged by sub clubs of The Westport Club ( The Men's and Ladies Bowling Clubs) on this coming Monday morning.
A snag n bun is being provided around 9am prior to games commencing about 9.30am.
Team sheets are located in the locker rooms and cost is $15- per person.
Just thought I would mention if some have not completed all their activities for the day.

Hi all.Providing an update for interested parties.
Yep we have enjoyed a good start to the year with satisfactory players enjoying our fun games. of lawn bowls.
only downside is that I have yet to do a BBQ due in the main to the topsi turvi weather forecasts.
Yep we are greatful for The Westport Club in providing both the outside Bar area and the shade/cover/and seating that provides a good fit for our normal BBQ's needs.
Yep the next BBQ date is foremost on my agenda, not looking flash for this coming Sunday with very hot temp, and some predicted thunderstorms.
But as usual we plan to have a go and our normal fun games are expected to go ahead.

Yep we are back on deck with games commencing today 4th Jan'26.
Whilst 2025 was not as successful as previous years we rallied around in the second half to conclude with a satisfactory overall results.
We paid some $3,882 in green fees, spent $1,051 on BBQ food and bottled water during the year and end of year reward and incentive payments costing $1275. A further cost of $30 paid to The Westport Men's Bowling Club as a donation towards gas supply for BBQs.
These payments covered by games fees and a donation from organiser.
My plan for 2026 remains the same as past 16years.
The goal is to provide social lawn bowls at The Westport Club for members and guests on Sunday morning when green space is available.

All good with our fun games of lawn bowls at The Westport Club.
Yep we missed a few games during August due to unsuitable weather conditions and we do not play when the Westport Men's Travelling Bowlers Club go away on a trip to wave the Westport flag and support like-minded fellow Bowlers.
It's great to visit/support clubs within a couple of hours drive to keep the dream of bowls alive.
Whilst we are a seperate identity to the Travelling Bowlers we support this sub club of the Westport Club to maximise number of players available for the trip.
We have played the past 3 weeks with numbers of players increasing each week. Great.
Last Sunday we did one of our special BBQ lunches after our games. As well as a very good number of players we had a few no players who are on the mend from injuries.
Next week is looking good weather for another morning of our fun game of bowls. Cheers Peli 🤠

Extremely pleasing when conditions for play are shall we say not perfect. Yep I am referring to weather conditions.
From your games organiser point of view it's so pleasing to see all that are available front up when the conditions for play are shall we say not as pleasant as preferred.
Yep the plan is as always to play our fun filled games on Sunday mornings at The Westport Club whenever possible.
