The success from previous years has seen numbers grow to over 2,500 competitors since the inaugural event. Through this partnership with Eire Constructions we’ll seek to continue the growth and firmly put Run Fest Forster – Tuncurry on the calendar as a destination event. Whether you are an elite athlete, jogger or walker there is an event for you at Run Fest Port Macquarie. The event is staged from the Port Macquarie Town Green area, with courses spanning from Town Beach to Settlement Point areas. Kick off your run fest weekend on Saturday 4th March at our local parkrun events, then our Run Fest weekend will officially start at Midday with the Team Holborow Kids 3km fun runs. The kids fun runs are timed and split into age categories. The festivities on the Saturday will conclude with the Indigenous Marathon Foundation 3km #RunSweatInspire. This also acts as the try outs for the IMP (Indigenous Marathon Project). Up for the Buster in 2023, gunning for a PB, completing a new challenge or simply to just #RunHappy, we have 4 events to choose from on Sunday 5th March. Events on Sunday are Half Marathon, 10km and 5km. Alternatively, you can take on the Greater Port Macquarie Treble Breakwall Buster whereby you are challenged to complete the Half Marathon + 10km and 5km events. The combined distance of the Buster is 36.1km and includes 6 runs up and back along the iconic Port Macquarie Breakwall. The Breakwall Buster is a fantastic challenge for the seasoned fun runner or a fantastic hit out if you are looking to step up to running marathon. In addition all finisher’s names will be added to the Treble Breakwall Buster Honour Roll. NEW in 2023 – Treble Team Relay
Recruit your team to complete the Treble team relay whereby you’ll have runners in Half Marathon, 10k and 5k events. Try to achieve your fastest combined time or simply #RunHappy as a team. All runners entered in treble relay teams will also be included in the individual events Half Marathon, 10k and 5k event results. Limited entry positions available for this new event. Wave starts and a number of other measures may be employed for the safe running of the event. Keep an out for important updates in the lead up to the event. Take advantage of the SUPER Early Bird Entry Discounts, which are available until the end of August 2023 to save a few $$$ and prepare to #RUNHAPPY at #PMRF2023.

🏅 Treble Breakwall Buster – You Did It!

Congratulations to everyone who has completed the Strive Finance Treble Breakwall Buster at Run Fest Port Macquarie over the last 10 years. Taking on three events on one day is no small feat, and we honour your incredible effort with the Treble Breakwall Buster event honour roll. What an achievement! 🏅🏅🏅🎖️💪

The 2026 event marked the final edition of the Treble, as Run Fest now transitions into an exciting new era — with a Marathon at each Run Fest event.

🏃‍♂️ RUN FEST PORT MACQUARIE 2026 // WHAT A WEEKEND! 🏁

What an incredible day on the streets of Port Macquarie. From first-timers to seasoned runners, thousands of people turned out to run, walk, cheer and celebrate everything that makes Run Fest so special.

A huge thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, event crew, supporters and every single participant who brought the energy and made this year another unforgettable event. The atmosphere from start line to finish chute was something truly special.

And the big news… Run Fest Port Macquarie is going the distance in 2027 with the addition of our first ever Marathon! 🏅

It will form part of the new Run Fest Marathon Series, with runners able to take on the full journey across four iconic events:
🏅 Run Fest South West Rocks – 7 June
🏅 Run Fest Forster–Tuncurry – 16 August
🏅 Run Fest Central Coast – 27 September
🏅 Run Fest Port Macquarie – 2 May 2027 (including the first ever Port Macquarie Marathon)

Those who complete the full series will earn the Run Fest Marathon Series Medallion at the Port Macquarie finale.

**It’s the team that makes the dream 💓 **

One week on I’m incredibly proud of what our event team delivered at Run Fest Port Macquarie. Running events are about far more than the finish line — they bring communities together, inspire healthier lifestyles and create moments people remember for years

To our incredible volunteers – thank you 😘. From rego crew, early morning set-up crews, course marshals, bike riders, aid station legends and everyone behind the scenes… this event simply doesn’t happen without you. Your energy brings the vibe that makes our Run Fest heart beat strong.

This year also marks 10 years of organising Run Fest events for me. It’s been an amazing journey and one thing has always remained true is it’s the team that makes the dream. I’m incredibly grateful to all that have supported and for what Run Fest has done for me in meeting so many amazing people.

We’re also incredibly excited about the future of Run Fest, with each event now featuring a Marathon as part of the new Run Fest Marathon Series. 🏃‍♂️ 🏅🏁🏃🏻‍♀️🏃‍♂️

The series kicks off at Run Fest South West Rocks on the 7th June 🏅, followed by Run Fest Forster-Tuncurry 16th August 🏅and Run Fest Central Coast 27th September 🏅.

…and will finish at Run Fest Port Macquarie on 2nd May 2027, where the first ever Run Fest Marathon Medalions will be awarded. 🏅🎖️

Big shout out to James from MASE Rubbish Removal who helped keep things running smoothly at Run Fest Port Macquarie 2026

James had the skip bin bags set up in Town Green and out on course helping manage waste across the event — making sure the place stayed clean race weekend.

Not only that… he even managed to sneak in a run himself! 🏅🏁🏃‍♂️👏 That’s commitment.

We’ve moved the event date to give runners cooler, more comfortable race conditions and an even better race day experience.

🔥 New Event – Strive Finance Marathon
For 2027 we’re adding a Marathon to the program. Course maps will be released soon but we can assure you that it will take in some of the best parts of Port Macquarie
Half Marathon - 1 Lap Course
Marathon - 1 x 21.1 + 2 10.55k Loops

***Attention Schools*** Run Fest is also launching a wellbeing initiative with funds being awarded to the top 5 schools participating in Run Fest Port Macquarie 2027. Simply add your school name as a team to your entry to make it count. This is also eligible for all Run Fest participants to choose a school they represent when entering - Mum, Uncle, Cousin, Great Dad... you get the drift. Great local businesses will be donating funds to assist in purchasing sporting equipment. We'll announce the 1st business onboard in the next few days.
