It is with great sadness that Portarlington Cricket Club acknowledges the passing of Phil “Philby” Boyd.
Philby was a much-loved and highly valued member of the Portarlington Cricket Club family, and someone who gave so much to our club over many years.
Whether it was volunteering behind the bar on Thursday nights, helping with our weekly raffles, sponsoring the club, or simply putting his hand up whenever something needed to be done, Philby was always there to support the club he cared so much about.
For many years, Philby was also proudly our Number One Ticket Holder, a fitting recognition of the incredible support and dedication he showed to Portarlington Cricket Club.
Even when his health no longer allowed him to volunteer as he once had, his support never stopped. He was always one of the first to contribute to our fundraisers, including Pink Stumps Day, the Reverse Raffle and our weekly raffles.
Philby’s generosity, friendship and contribution to our club will be remembered for many years to come. People like Philby are a huge part of what makes a community sporting club so special, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he gave to ours.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Philby’s family and friends during this very difficult time.
Rest peacefully, Philby. You will be greatly missed around the club
