It can be a bit scary going upside down!
The key is to build up slowly.
Don’t rush to get your legs up straight.
Focus first on just bringing one knee into your chest at a time.
The both knees.
Slowly slowly.
If you want some help come flow with Karen Bicchierai tomorrow 6.15am and 6pm

Who loves a good sweat in Bikram Yoga?
I’ve been a bikram chick for many years but for the first few years of practice I felt that once Standing Head To Knee was over I had made it through the class… that internal party that I’d done it, (even though it’s right at the beginning).
SHTK is now one of my faves, but it also challenges me the most. What’s your pose? Send us a DM with a video to repost 😉

WHY WE SWEAT 😰
Our sweat glands are far more involved in healing than we might realise. Within them lives a reserve of adult stem and progenitor cells that can be called upon when our skin is injured.
When a wound occurs, cells from the sweat glands beneath the skin begin to multiply and travel upward towards the damaged area. These cells become part of the repair process, helping to rebuild and close the damaged tissue.
But their role goes beyond simply providing new cells. Sweat gland-derived stem and progenitor cells also communicate with the surrounding tissue by releasing signalling molecules and growth factors, including VEGF. These signals can support the formation of new blood vessels, regulate inflammation and help create the environment the skin needs to repair itself.
In this way, our sweat glands aren’t simply there to regulate temperature. They also hold their own small reserve of regenerative cells, ready to contribute when the skin needs healing.

Often we hear “I’m not flexible, I can’t do yoga” or “my mind is too busy to do yoga”
As yoga teachers we hear a lot of the same things. The truth is there are so many styles within the yoga umbrella and it’s more finding the right fit for you.
99% of us have busy minds, yoga is a tool to navigate through this crazy world.
To start, come say hi and get on your mat 💕

The Sound of OM: A musical concert celebrating OM through classical music, mantra, vibration and rhythm.

What if a concert could take you somewhere within?

OM is one of the most recognised sounds in Indian spiritual and contemplative traditions, often described as the primordial sound or the sound of the universe.

The evening will bring together classical, traditional and fusion music, with mantra, voice, instruments, rhythm and moments of stillness.

The musical evening unfolds in two parts:
1.     Part one – The Cosmic, Vedic and Upanishadic OM
Explore A • U • M • Through the four states of consciousness — waking, dreaming, deep sleep and Turīya.
2.     Part two – The Bhakti and Yogic OM
Experience A • U • M through creation, preservation and transformation — brought to life through music and mantra.
Featuring acclaimed vocalists Viraj Salvi and Ranjitha Suresh, alongside some of Melbourne’s finest classical artists, the evening takes audiences on a journey from stillness to collective joy.

The experience is designed to help the audience reflect, reconnect, uplift and take simple wellbeing practices back into their day to day lives.
