Prestons Robins Little Athletics

We are Prestons Robins Little Athletics Centre, based in Prestons. We encourage all athletes to strive for their own personal bests.

We conduct weekly track and field competition for young athletes Tots (3-5yrs)-18’s yrs on Friday nights at 6.30pm between September and March at Ash Road Sporting Complex, Prestons. Little Athletics is a foundation for all sports, giving young athletes skills to improve all areas of their fitness and co-ordination through running, jumping, throwing and walking. We are affiliated with Little Athletics NSW, and a member of Central West Metropolitan Zone and LANSW Region 7. We aim to promote fun and fitness through the development of skills and the fostering of good sportsmanship in a safe, positive, family friendly and inclusive environment. The Little Athletics NSW Mission is to maximise the enjoyment, development and potential of each participant, be they an athlete, coach, official or parent/guardian.
• We encourage development by providing opportunities for personal and athletic growth.
• We promote education, good administration, sportsmanship, self-esteem and the development of life skills through engaging in athletics.
• We provide a safe, healthy, inclusive and positive environment in which our members and interested participants of our community can learn the fundamentals of sports.

Tonight we're running our Week 2 Program!

🏃 JAVELIN – 11's & up
• Marshalling: 5.50pm at the Javelin areas for 6.00pm start

📢 WEEKLY COMPETITION
• Announcements: 6.25pm
• All other first events: 6.30pm

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDERS
• Only registered athletes can participate.
• A parent/carer MUST remain at the field at all times.
• Athletes without a parent/carer present will be removed from competition for the night.
• Please help your Age Manager wherever possible. We are ALL volunteers, and parent assistance is essential to keeping Friday nights running smoothly.

👕 UNIFORM SALES – LAST NIGHT!
Uniforms will be available to purchase (EFT only) from 5.30pm–6.00pm SHARP.

This is our final uniform sales night, as our Committee members are required on the field for competition duties.

🏆 COMBINED EVENTS CARNIVAL – SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER

Prestons Robins LAC is hosting the CWM & MWM Zones Combined Events Carnival this Sunday!
• The event program will be released tomorrow.
• Our club tents will be set up for our athletes and families.
• Bring your chairs, enthusiasm and plenty of team spirit!
If you have any questions about the carnival, please speak to a Committee Member tonight.

🏃 STATE RELAYS – TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS
State Relay teams will be announced once we have contacted the selected athletes.

If you are contacted regarding selection, please respond as a matter of urgency to confirm your availability.

We have limited time to finalise teams, and if we don't receive a prompt response, we may need to offer the position to a reserve athlete.

Further event information will be provided shortly.

Please avoid messaging earlier about the weather. Our Committee members are volunteers who are also at their day jobs, and decisions will be made closer to competition time.

❤️🖤 IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDERS – PLEASE READ

The safety of our athletes, officials, volunteers and families is our priority. These safety rules are in place to prevent accidents and injuries and MUST be followed at all times.

🔴 PARENTS MUST REMAIN AT THE FIELD
A parent/guardian MUST remain at the grounds throughout competition. Athletes without a parent/guardian present will be removed from competition until they return.

🔴 NO SMOKING OR VA**NG
As per LANSW Policy, smoking and va**ng are strictly prohibited in all competition and spectator areas. The designated smoking area is at the top of the hill, adjacent to the car park.

🔴 DO NOT BLOCK EMERGENCY ENTRY POINTS
All emergency access points MUST remain clear at all times. Do not park or obstruct these areas. Emergency vehicles must have immediate access to our grounds when required.

🔴 NO PRACTISING AT EVENT AREAS
Athletes are NOT permitted to use event areas outside of competition, including the High Jump mats. These areas must only be used under appropriate supervision during scheduled events.

These are safety requirements, NOT optional guidelines. Failure to follow them puts athletes and others at risk.

We expect all families and athletes to respect these rules and follow instructions from our Committee and Officials.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

12’s-17’s | 6.15pm-7.15pm

Training is available to registered Prestons Robins LAC athletes in the 8’s-17’s age groups only.

REMINDERS:
• Training is NOT compulsory - for athletes keen to learn and improve.
• Parents MUST remain at the ground.
• Wear suitable running gear and bring water.

❤️🖤 WEEK 1 PROGRAM ❤️🖤
Tonight kicks off our Week 1 Program! Please read the important updates below.

🏃 EVENT SCHEDULE
5.50pm – Race Walk Marshalling (9's & up)
• Marshall at the 1500m start for a 6pm SHARP start.
• All athletes MUST be at marshalling by 5.50pm to have their name added to the race sheet and receive technique instructions.
• Late arrivals will NOT be permitted to compete.

6.25pm – Weekly Announcements, followed by all other first events.

NO LONG HURDLES tonight. They will return in two weeks.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDERS
• A parent/carer MUST remain at the field at all times (LANSW requirement).
• Athletes without a parent/carer present will be removed from competition for the night.
• SAFETY FIRST: We have 3 active tracks. Please look before crossing and keep all tracks and finish areas clear.
• Full club uniform, including registration number and Coles Age Patch, must be worn.

🎽 REGO PACKS & UNIFORMS
Unfortunately, there will be no Rego Pack collection or uniform sales tonight as we are still waiting on our supplier. We will notify everyone via Facebook and Instagram when stock arrives.

We're hosting this exciting carnival on our home track! Let's see plenty of red and black uniforms, athletes chasing PBs and showing our Prestons Robins club spirit.

Sadly, we have received no responses to our call for parents to join our volunteer BBQ team. Without volunteers, our BBQ cannot operate this week.

❤️🖤 FRIDAY NIGHT BBQ - PARENTS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Did you volunteer to help with our BBQ this season? Now is the time to put your hand up!

We urgently need parent volunteers to run our Friday night BBQ.

With enough helpers, we can organise a rotating roster so you won't need to volunteer every week.

The jobs are simple - cutting bread rolls, cooking sausages and onions, and serving food and drinks. No experience needed!

Our Committee will assist with coordination, but we need parents to step up and help make it happen.

Without enough volunteers, we won't be able to continue offering our BBQ. All proceeds go directly back into purchasing equipment for our athletes.

❤️🖤 COME ON PRESTONS ROBINS - LET’S FILL OUR HOME TRACK WITH RED & BLACK! 🖤❤️

Only ONE WEEK LEFT to enter the CWM & MWM Zones Combined Events Carnival, hosted by Prestons Robins LAC on Sunday, 25 October!

A great opportunity to compete on your home track against athletes from other Clubs and Zones, challenge yourself, aim for PBs and enjoy a fun day of athletics!

🏆 HOW DOES IT WORK?
Athletes compete in all 6 events for their age group, earning points for each performance. Watch your points grow throughout the day as you run, jump and throw!

At the end of the carnival, all points are tallied, with medals awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place based on the OVERALL pointscore in each age group.

It’s all about giving each event your best effort, working towards your PB goals, meeting new friends and enjoying the experience!
