🎾 What a way to get ready for spring! 🌱

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the working bee today — and to those who have put in time and effort throughout the week to help get everything ready for the season ahead. We really appreciate the time, energy and good humour that goes into making our club such a great place to be.

There’s always plenty of work to do behind the scenes, but somehow we manage to have a pretty good time doing it!

The courts are looking great, the weather is starting to warm up, and we’re getting very excited to be back out there doing what we love - playing tennis!

With spring rosters kicking off over the coming weeks across both Tennis North and AIC competitions, there’s plenty of tennis to look forward to.

Bring on spring, the competition, the laughs and plenty of time on court, because as we know life’s just better on court.

Tennis Tasmania have announced the finalists for some of this years athlete awards.

Huge well done to Wilfred and Nic for their well deserved recognition. Massive season over the last year, and it’s a privilege to see them keep going from strength to strength in the game.

AIC recently joined the team at The Racquet Collective for a night out to beat the winter blues — and what a night it was!

More than 45 members, family and friends joined us for a great night out, with plenty of laughs, surprise birthday celebrations, a few well-earned awards and a first look at our new club uniforms.

For us, tennis has always been about more than what happens on court. It’s the people, the laughs, the competition and the sense of community that make being part of AIC so good.

If you’re looking for a club where community and people are just as important as the tennis, send us a message. We’d love to have you join us!

Our Winter Singles Roster is flying by! 🎾

Twenty players have been enjoying some cracking winter weather and some even better tennis over the past few weeks.

Only a few rounds left before finals, so it's game on. Good luck to everyone still in the hunt for a medal! 🏅

It might be winter, but the committee has been busy behind the scenes, working to ensure we're building the best club possible for you.

For those who aren't on our mailing list, we have a couple of updates to share with you.

🥳 2026 AGM Update

Our AGM was held in June and provided a great opportunity to reflect on everything we've achieved over the past year, while looking ahead to what's next.

We'd like to sincerely thank Robyn Hanson and Sonia Churchill for their many years of service as dedicated committee and executive members. This year they stepped back from their formal committee roles, and we're incredibly grateful for the time, energy and passion they've contributed to AIC Tennis Club.

An updated Committee list is displayed in the clubhouse and is also included below.

We also want to acknowledge and thank our current committee for the commitment they continue to show. This group truly embodies the spirit of community and the belief that life's just better on court. With Louise leading the committee again this year, we're excited about what 2026-27 has in store and are confident it will be one of AIC's best years yet.



📣Sponsorship Opportunities

One of the committee's long-term ambitions has been to develop an additional income stream beyond memberships that supports the ongoing growth and maintenance of AIC's facilities.

We're excited to officially launch our new AIC Tennis Club Sponsorship Packages.

Monday night saw the grand final of our Div 1 Autumn Twilight Roster.

It was a closely contested match, but our dual champions, Larissa and Simon, were determined to get their names on the shield for a third time!

A huge congratulations to all players and fill-ins who took part throughout the season. We've only had a handful of chilly evenings, but plenty of great tennis, laughs and friendly competition along the way.

Thanks to everyone who played, filled in, supported from the sidelines and helped create another great season at AIC.

Now... onto the Winter Roster 💪🏻🎾

Congratulations to Wilfred McKibben on his upcoming trip to headline our U13 boys Tasmanian Team at the National Teams Championships at KDV on the Gold Coast!

With the amazing support of his mum (Jackie) over the past couple of years Wilfred has improved unlike no others we have witnessed before!

As a sole parent we have to congratulate Jackie for everything she not only does for Wilfred but our tennis community in the North as well!

Our coaching team at NTTA, the school and our whole tennis community knows that the special bond only a mother can have with her son is the driving force behind what we all witness Wilfred doing on the court . . . wishing you both an amazing time at one of the countries biggest events 🎾🎾

🥳 Last night three AIC teams competed in the Semi Finals of the Tennis North Doubles Pennants

👏Well done to all teams, and a special thank you to the Tennis North Interclub Pennants team and Tennis World Launceston for hosting our home games all together down at the Centre.

The games were each well fought with the results below.

🥈B1 - Legana Tennis Club came home with the win after 3 hard fought sets against Ollie and Nic
🥇B2 - Steve and Lauren pipped Legana Tennis Club's infamous duo of Jimmy and Dave in two sets
🥇B3 - Nikki and Sara fought hard to come back and take home the win in three sets over Newstead Tennis & Squash Centre

Finals will be played next Tuesday 2nd June.

🎾B3 Final will be played at AIC - Australian Italian Club Launceston Courts
