Pyrmont Yoga

I'm missing SYC and India this week. My time there in Dec/Jan without Sharathji was hard, but also incredibly beautiful. So many of us stepped onto our mats despite the weight of our grief so that we could honour his life and show support for his family, the staff and the community there.

On March 11 the Australian Ashtanga community will join together to do the same. Sharathji's dedication to sharing Ashtanga yoga globally has benefited all of us who are practicing and teaching it today, whether directly or indirectly. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone come together to say thank you.

This year I am supporting my friend and physio, Paul Dardagan, who is hosting a charity event to raise support for two amazing orphanage projects in Zimbabwe, helping to finish building a new school and healthcare clinic.

Some of you may know Paul, formerly of BounceREHAB now at Balmain Physio and Pilates, and this is a project very close to his heart.

This is a great opportunity for students past and present to come together in something other than lycra 😄, connect with our yoga sangha socially and to support a worthy cause at the same time. I hope I get to catch up with some of you there.

SYC Nov/Dec 2022, Mysore India - What an amazing adventure its been for the whole family. I've learned a lot and am so grateful to Guruji Sharath Jois and the other SYC teachers for sharing their knowledge so generously. Thanks to Tony Vu for teaching for me at our shala while I was away. Classes resume this Sunday 8th Jan and I look forward to seeing you all in this New Year. 🙏
