Great day in Penrith at the World Championships Kayak Cross. Very different rules to Slalom. Videos in comments.

Robowars. It was decided that remote control events are activities rather than sports according to our sport definition (a sport must have physical elements, skill and competition). It was fun to watch with great battles. First to push the other in the pit! Lots of design variations. Video in comments.

Truck Pull at the Convoy 4 Kids, Clarendon. First was a Strongwoman, followed by a man from the public. Huge effort. Lots of trucks arrive for the day, a few Hotrods and fun “Woody” car.

Waterpolo in Ashfield. First a Div 2 game followed by Canberra Kraken vs Hunter Hurricanes in the Sydney Men’s Super League. It’s a rough sport particularly under the surface of the water. Victory to the Hurricanes.

Darts
Well this wasn’t what we were expecting! We thought we would enter just to say we’ve played. Thought it would be a knockout event, no! It was a round robin State event, each round best of 5 legs. Each leg starts at 501 and you work your way down to 0 but you must get to 0 with a double score on your last throw. We got close to winning a leg several times but couldn’t pull it off. Many entrants from far and wide. So grateful to those who embraced us joining in (some were quite sceptical when we arrived with no darts or club shirts), the instructions, support and laughs! Also the warning that we will feel sore tomorrow- we threw a LOT of darts. Kingswood.

AFLW Sydney Swans vs Gold Coast Suns. Great couple of goals near the end to give the Swans the lead but not held in the last minute.

Our 150th sport was loud! Drag racing at Sydney Motorsports Park, Eastern Creek. A great morning watching a variety of vehicles race down the 400m track. The fastest we saw reached just over 400km/hr. You can start racing at the age of 8.

Polo in Richmond. The field is approx. 274 x 146m. Its played in 4 x 7minute chukkas. Each rider has at least two ponies (even though they are horses) that are changed out a number of times throughout the game. Many are ex-race horses. A fast paced game.

Artistic Roller Skating in South Windsor. This was some of the skills test. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to see the freestyle and dance program.

We headed out to the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith for two triathlon variations - the Sprint Tri (750m swim, 20km bike ride, 5km run) and the Ironman 70.3 (1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21.1km run). Definitely spectators and not competitors for this one! Great supportive atmosphere.
