๐ Weโre incredibly proud to share that Pacific Dragons has been awarded Joint PNSW Event of the Year! ๐
Our inaugural First Nations Harbour Race โ the Iron Cup at La Perouse was recognised for celebrating both high-performance paddling and the rich cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Held on Kameygal land, the event brought paddlers from across NSW together through racing, storytelling, connection to Country and community.
Weโre incredibly proud of the PD volunteers who brought the event to life, and especially grateful to PaddleNSW, PNSW Indigenous Advisor Darren Forbes and Harbour Racing Chair AnneAnnette Mathews their passion, leadership and hard work in making this celebration so meaningful.
This award is a wonderful recognition of what can happen when sport creates space for culture, connection, inclusion and community.
