Grip is there to help you return the club face square.

If you’re struggling to get the ball going straight, put your club up at hip height and take a grip where it is comfortable for you to have the face square to spine

Learning how to time your weight movement in the golf swing is critical to striking the ball solid.

1. Start weight in your lead leg
2. Move into your trail leg (not outside)
3. Before the top of your swing start the shift back to the left.

Your swing is only as good as the foundation.

I once spent years trying to work on my club positions in my swing

Stopping the inside takeaway
Stopping the cross the line at the top
Stopping the steep move coming down
Stopping the cross early extension out of posture

I wish I’d learnt sooner that it was almost all a fault of how I was moving/stacking my hips and sternum.

Had I of got the foundations of my body positions right first then getting the club into position would both

Felt way better once it was there instead of awkward

And success would’ve come much faster rather than it being a sticky change.

If you need a simple guide on how to start that process comment “CHALLENGE” and I’ll send over a simple to follow step my step plan to help your game.

✅ Strength training > Speed training ❌

The stronger you get the higher your potential for speed.

Of course there is a big place for speed training but if you’re doing that without first lifting. I’m sorry to say it but you have it backwards and are only asking for injury.

Learn to lift with great technique… then start to add weight.

The longer you wait to start the longer you’ll be waiting to play the golf you really want.

Golfers tend to struggle with inconsistency

Especially on the course!

Hitting shots left right topped fatted and everything in between

Then you get back to the range and hit it awesome again, leaving you constantly wondering why you can’t take what you do at the range to the course

I was the same for a long time, not getting the results for the effort put in.

Getting so caught up with swing perfection but forgetting about function

It wasn’t until I stopped prioritising looking “right” and started prioritising function that I then started to see my hard work pay off.

I stopped missing cuts and started winning tournaments shooting mid to low 60s regularly

And with the right function for you I’m sure it will do the same

You got to hit it clean! ✅

Most people struggle to hit it clean because they’re focused on landing in front of the ball or keeping the head down or even shaft leaning. So focused on what happens before impact that they forget about what happens after impact.

To hit a really nice crisp golf shot, you need to have a very good turf interaction, in other words how does the club exit the ground not just go into the ground?

To ensure you’re doing a good job of this, make sure you’re extending your lead side through the ball instead of sliding through impact.

If you’re going to get it wrong don’t make the very first bit wrong.

your takeaway is extremely important for setting you up for success in your back swing, ensure you have plenty of width and a natural hinge. This will make sure you’re in position to make a good full turn, keep the club on plane and hit the ball solid.

Everyone wants that effortless looking swing! Here’s 3 tips that can help make it happen ⬇️

1️⃣ Your grips. Are they thick enough for your hand and are they clean and tacky? Grips that are too small or especially shiny will almost force you to strangle the club.

2️⃣ Your intention. Like I stated in the video, you must work on keeping your grip pressure consistent through the swing. The lighter you can maintain it the more effortless the swing will look. (Because it is).

3️⃣ Your strength. Something that is understated in golf is your grip strength. If you’re weak in the hands and forearms you will have to use a lot of effort to swing the club. (Kind of opposite to effortless 😜) the stronger you can become especially in the hands and forearms, the easier you can hold it and hence maintain the effortless action.
