The Lord's Gym

When your faith is strong you can always say He is Good! This is not always easy but so necessary… this morning I am being reminded of the Goodness of God. He will not leave us as orphans rather he adopts us and raises us as sons and daughters. Challenges and victories and lots of in between make up this life and He reminds us that He is there through it all. The good, the bad and the in between.

Proverbs 31:25 describes a woman who is "clothed with strength and dignity" and "can laugh at the days to come." She is strong and resilient with a courageous and positive outlook towards the future. She values and respects herself and others do the same. She stands out in the crowd especially in the current culture but that is how God designed us. Stand up and stand up. Face the future with courage, strength and dignity and teach your daughters to do the same! .dignity.courage

Just reflecting on the difficulties is homeschooling and felt to encourage others in the same boat that the road is hard when you choose the narrow path. It might be that you are the only one you know or you might be part of a big community but sometimes that doesn’t take away the feeling of loss. Loss of your career, your time, finances and the cost of having to live differently to be able to be home. It is worth it though when you see your children living free, making choices and being creative and thriving in the spaces you create for them. Push through the days when school seems like an easier option and remember why you started!

Reading Zechariah this morning and I felt that this verse really stood out to me and reminded me that the small steps we take are still of great value to God. Our family has great big dreams and a vision that is way beyond us right now but we are taking small steps in the right direction and the Lord is pleased with the baby steps of progress. In a world where things are expected to happen instantly we have to be ok in the waiting and in the beginnings as the work begins! Sometimes I forget that God is outside time and not at all stressed about what is going on and when we wait and do the little things He can bring His plans and purposes to us rather than us striving to make it happen ourselves.
