In the last 5 years fewer kids are staying active through sports due in part to early, single sport specialisation. Early specialisation in a single sport increases the risk of overuse injuries, causes kids to burn out and quit sports altogether and decrease overall athletic development. One way to counter this is early diversification of sports by playing variety of sports at an early age to decrease the chance of injures, stress and burnout.
