At the recent AGM, we welcomed some new and familiar faces back to the Modbury Tennis Club Committee. Big ups to Ads who is taking on an interim President's role while we figure out how to fill Bruce Tonkin's big shoes:

Exciting times ... with the upcoming final stage of the court redevelopment, courts 1, 2, 7, 8 will be reserved during the below times from 6th October 2026 until further notice:
Monday 5-7pm Junior Member Training
Tuesday 6-8pm Senior Member Training & Ladies Social
Wednesday 9am-12pm Mid-Week Ladies Competition , 5-9pm Netball (courts 7,8)
Thursday
Friday 6-9pm Junior Member Competition
Saturday 8am-6pm Junior & Senior Member Competition
Sunday

Tennis Coaches have priority access at all times outside of competition times.

Social play only available outside of the above reserved times, subject to court availability.

To all our tennis club players and members. At the AGM 2 weeks ago I stepped down from the presidency and all committee duties after 21 continuous years on the committee. Spanning from general committee member in 2005, Junior Coordinator, Secretary and the last 9 years as your President.

Over these years I have made many friendships that are and will continue to be long lasting into the future.
I have been involved in some significant changes to this club and am proud of what we have achieved whilst I have been at the helm.
Particulary the most recent $1 million dollar reconstruction of all 8 courts.

It’s time for me to take a break and make way for some fresh faces to continue the momentum of our great club. I have full confidence in the new committe that has formed. I’ll still be around though, playing Saturday competition.

Thanks again to everyone that is part of our amazing club, see you on the courts and a drink and chat after the game.

2026/27 SUMMER SEASON REGISTRATIONS are now open for both Juniors & Seniors. The season runs from October to March.
Nominations close: 13 September 2026
Season commences: 10 October 2026

We have a range of competition options you can nominate for;

- Seniors singles and doubles (including mixed doubles) comps on Saturdays

- Juniors - Friday night/Saturday morning

Hi all, the council will be holding an official opening / ribbon cutting for the 4 new courts this Wednesday may 13th from 5.30pm.
We will be putting on a sausage sizzle and the bar will be open.
All members, feel free to come along and bring your racquet to have a hit

Our new lower level courts are complete. From today we can commence practice and matches. The new surface looks amazing. Big thanks to Tiger Turf for the construction and finishes, also to the City of Tea Tree Gully for funding the project.

Court Reconstruction Update.
Despite some delays with handover of the courts due to weather, this Wednesday 6th of May, our committee will be having a walk through from the council project team. They are looking fantastic with club members able to use them from Thursday 7 May onwards.
