THE SEASON IS ALMOST HERE
With Round 1 for Saturday Pennant kicking off next week, 10th October, it’s time to get excited and get ready for another big season on the green.

Our 2026 season rosters are below, showing where and when each division will be playing throughout the year. Save them, screenshot them, and keep them handy for the season ahead.

Round 1 sees:
Premier League - Away vs Port Sorell
Division 2 - Home vs Devonport
Division 4 - Home vs Penguin

With the first games just around the corner, now is the time to get those final preparations in. Training is open Tuesday and Thursday, so get along, have a roll and make sure you’re ready to go for the start of the season.

Don’t forget, our Players’ Tea is next Thursday. Make sure you book in and join us as we get together ahead of the opening round and kick off the new season.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back out on the green.

🌟 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT – PHIL LUCAS & CHRIS WHITE 🌟

As we approach our Open Day this Sunday, we’re kicking off a new series recognising and thanking some of the wonderful people who generously volunteer their time and contribute so much to our club.

It seems only fitting that our first Member Spotlight goes to our greens staff, Phil Lucas and Chris White. 👏

Throughout the off-season, Phil and Chris have continued to put in countless hours behind the scenes caring for and preparing our green for the season ahead under the guidance of our great greenkeeper, Paul Wells from North West Turf Management. Maintaining a quality green takes an enormous amount of time, knowledge and commitment, and much of that work happens when there aren’t many people around to see it.

Their contribution to our club extends well beyond the work they do on the green. Both Phil and Chris have been long-standing, valued members of our club who are always willing to give their time, lend a hand and do what they can to help the club move forward.

It’s volunteers like Phil and Chris, plus the support from Paul, who continue to give their time week after week and year after year, that make a community club like ours possible. We’re incredibly grateful for everything they continue to do.

A very well-deserved thank you to Paul, Phil and Chris, we appreciate you!

We’d also like to extend a big thank you to everyone who came along to our working bee last Sunday and helped get the club and surrounds ready for the start of the season. It was fantastic to see so many members pitching in and every job completed.

Thank you to everyone who continues to give their time to our club. Now we’re looking forward to Open Day this Sunday and another great season ahead.

Come along and join us for our 2026 Open Day on Sunday, 20 September.

Whether you’re a returning member, new to the area, thinking about giving bowls a go, or simply keen to see what our club is all about, everyone is welcome.

It’s a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet some of our new members and players, have a roll-up and get ready for another season at Ridgley.

Members are asked to please bring a plate to share on the day.

A reminder that membership fees are due prior to the start of the season. Fees can be paid at Open Day, or members can contact our Treasurer, Leon White, to arrange payment.

Bring along your family and friends and enjoy a day at the club. We’d love to see plenty of new and familiar faces there.

Everyone welcome - see you at the Capital

We’re pleased to welcome Jay McDonald to the Ridgley family for the upcoming season.

Jay joins us after making the move to Burnie, having previously played his bowls with North Launceston, where he spent time as part of their Premier League side. His experience at that level will be a valuable addition to our playing group as he settles into life on the Coast.

With a good understanding of Premier League bowls and plenty of experience to draw on, we’re looking forward to seeing Jay get amongst it and make his mark in Ridgley colours.

It’s great to have Jay on board, and we’re excited to see what the season brings.

Please join us in giving Jay and his family a warm welcome to the club.
