Vale Bob Withers

We wore black armbands in our Grand Final matches last weekend in recognition of Launceston Team of the Century player and Premiership coach Bob Withers, who passed away last week.

A supremely skilled and highly versatile player, Bob was a star of the NTFA and interstate football throughout the 1960’s. During this time he also gained a reputation as one of northern Tasmania’s finest coaches, guiding us to a drought-breaking premiership in 1969.

What a night last week, with Launceston Football Club hosting the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup tour earlier this week. Thanks for everyone who came and grabbed a snap.

Now the big question, who’s going to win the big dance and take the cup home, Brissy or Freo? 👇
